Car troubles again....HELP!
Previous to this my car was sitting in my driveway idling for about 10-15 mins and nothing was wrong...
On the way to getting gas, I had the music up and I could tell something was wrong, the pedal felt dead, and smelled unburned gas..I pull over to a side street and get out and the motor is shaking something awful on the motor mounts....its got a pretty bad knock at idle, but it will hold an idle, for sometime it would not hold an idle, but now it does and knocks bad...I had it towed to speed inc, they hooked up the A-tap, it showed zero misfires....
And there was just a bunch of bogus codes the car was throwing.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Any ideas guys help me out here.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

Crank position sensor...(but this warning has been on for a long time, and I've never had problems w/it)
Also the A-tap was picking up the codes for the wrong year...like 98...
Any more ideas?
Will the motor rev right? Maybe replace the CPS since you’re getting a code for it?

All 8 plugs were toasted, they replaced them, made the motor run a little better, but still knocks...
Somewhere, somehow, the motor is flooding itself...
They are going to pull off the valvecovers soon to see if it might be a spring, if not in there, they will start doing a compression test..
Any more imput you guys could provide would be appreciated...
Thanks a lot,
Bos
If 1 broke there is no reason all 8 plugs would be shot. How old were they? What did they actually look like? White, grey, black, oily, or physically damaged?
Next time you need your plugs changed, let me know. It'll be cheap and I'll teach you how to do it at the same time. Pulling off a valvecover is real easy too.
This is peanut if you didn't know.
The car has NOT been sprayed yet....
They did a compression test on the driver side and it was fine, and before they did it on the passanger side (the hard side) they pulled the fuel line going from the solenoid off the fuel rail, and now it runs fine...
So were thinking something isn't wired right, or I have a shitty TNT fuel solenoid...but if the wiring was wrong it would cause the solenoid to spray the fuel only above 3000...
Confused... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
They changed the plugs again, and it runs a little rough at idle, he said there is a slightly bad plug or 2 or 3...but he said it should clear up as soon as it goes WOT...is this true??
Thanks,
Bos
Same deal still, runs like crap...I assume all the plugs are fried again...
I hear a distinct tapping comming from the passanger side valvecover, the driver side valvetrain is whisper quiet...
But the verdict is, my wiring was wrong somewhere, because when I went there I had a dead battery, which means that one lead was draining 12v's all the time, instead of being a switched 12v source, so I guess I will have to go through that when the time comes...
So I guess what happened was that when I was driving I was spraying a 75 shot of fuel on and off maybe about 2-3 times....everything falls together now, because now I remember smelling fuel right as the car started to run crappy...
But they have changed the plugs and that didn't make any difference....
Any more ideas on why my car is running like junk??
My fuel pressure is 59-60 range so thats fine, Coolant temps are at a steady 194....the OIL psi reads a little over and a little under 40psi, but that seems normal...

If you were spraying fuel it would mess up the plugs.
Don't know what to tell you, if it's tapping, you need to investigate or drop it off to be fixed.
So everytime you get into it you might have been getting a shot of fuel. Will bog the motor down and get the plugs wet.
Is it still tapping?
