Default Track resuslts with TR224 cam and SLP heads.

Took my 02 SS out the track this weekend to get some results of the new cam. Let me start by saying it was brutally hot and humid this weekend. The temp down on the track was close to 100 degrees and the humidity was in the 80%'s.

Let me give you some base line information:
1. All runs were on my Nitto 555R DR's with 18psi
2. I launched at 2900-3000 rpm on all runs
3. I shifted like normal, no power shifting etc.
3. The weather was about the same on both days- HOT.

Here are the mods on my car in March when I last ran:
- Stock Heads, Stock cam
- SLP CAI, Holley Filter, SLP Air Box, SLP MAF
- SLP Headers, SLP LoudMouth
- 10 Bolt with 4.10's, Nitto 555R @ 18psi, LG Torque Arm
- NGK Plugs, Royal Purple 5w30

Here are the results of my track times in march:

Here are the mods on my car as of now:
- TR 224/224 111.7 lsa, SLP Heads, ASP Pulley
- LS1 Edit programming by me
- SLP CAI, Holley Filter, SLP Air Box, SLP MAF
- SLP Headers, SLP LoudMouth
- 10 Bolt with 4.10's, Nitto 555R @ 18psi, LG Torque Arm
- NGK Plugs, Royal Purple 5w30

Here are the results of my track times yesterday:

In a nut shell I'm really please with my new setup. I know I definately need more track time, I think in total I have maybe 20 runs at the track in my life. I am also very nervous about exploding my 10 bolt at the track. I'm ordering a moser 12 this week, I just have a few questions about the gearing before I do. Anyway I just wanted to post some before and after actual track results with the TR224 cam and SLP healds.

Looks like you can say dropped a full second. Looking good I bet with more track time you will get it down even more. Good job. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
P.S. don't brake the 10 bolt it would be nice to have it in one peice or to sell it. Hang tight till you get the 12 bolt then thrash it!

I haven't been on the dyno since right after I got my car, I had just an air lid and my loudmouth with stock exhaust manifold. I dyno'd 334 RWHP. I am going to try to get dyno'd in the next week or so.

My race weight for all my runs was 3690#'s, I was only shifting at 6400. I need to dyno to see if its worth it for me to shift higher.

Right now I am extremely please with the cars performance.

Where in Florida are you? I live in Seminole, Florida. Its near Tampa.. I am going to dyno again with cutouts open this Wednesday.. Your car runs strong.. Those are awesome times for 100 degree weather.. With all this rain lately there is no telling what the humidity was when you ran.. I am sure you have a high 11 the way she sits..

I live in Deerfield Beach, its in between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

I was racing at Moroso Motorsports Park, they had a "Hot Rod" sunday event, basically it was a day time test and tune for any car.

The weather report said the humidity was in the 80's. Damn it was hot.

Hey Lee, I was racing at Moroso yesterday also. Sorry I didnt come over and say hi. Thats a beautiful car and it was running strong! The air really couldnt have been much worse! If your new to the track, I see good things in your future. You were rowing the gears real well! I have the silver OOSS with the welds and the Hurricane performance windshield banner.Let me know when youll be there again and well hook-up. Me and a few buddys will be there this wed. I live in Stuart and Im there at least once a week. But in this heat it is frustrating. Wait till we get some descent air!!

Thats killer.. Have you taken her to the dyno yet? I took her to the track this past weekend as well and my shake down run with a street start was almost identical to yours, but I had 32#'s of air in my Nittos and a race weight of 3760lbs. I was shifting at 6k rpm.. It was also over 95 degrees out and I drove 40 miles to get to the track and with no cool down I ran..

R/T... .461
60'....1.875
330....5.282
1/8....8.058
MPH....89.45
1000...10.434
1/4....12.402
MPH....114.44

I was a little disappointed secondary to my previous best with 3.42's/T1 and headers was:

R/T.... .465
60'....2.015
330....5.02
1/8....7.78
MPH....91.20
1000...10.248
1/4....12.282
MPH....116.81

It was the same time of the year. My raceweight then was 3750lbs and I had 30#'s of air in the tires.. Granite I was shifting at 6800rpm..

It's been almost a year since I took her to the track.. Maybe I am just rusty..
