Ever heard of Lloyd Elliot?
I know he is a genius with LT1 heads... and he says he does LS1 heads as well. I am just wondering if anyone has gone to him for a Heads/Cam setup.
He said he can wield 430whp with a very mild heads/cam setup. Then if I get a LS6 ported intake, true duals, basically full boltons... that 445whp is very feasible while pullin to 6k ONLY. Which is my ultimate goal because I want to rev my stock bottom end out.
Is that unheard of or very common?

A solid H/C car should yield near 450 rwhp with a 6 speed. Sometimes more sometimes less. Lloyd is big with the LT-1 guys due to his prices and time lines. He seems to be doing a great job and he's been around for a while now. I haven't ever seen any numbers from his LS-1 work, but I imagine he knows what he's doing.

A mid 400 HP head/cam and bolt ons car is very common ... no magic or voodoo there..there are a number well proven aftermarket heads out there now days..take your pick...the top of the heap are the Trick Flows coming out of TEA but you are talking about $3000 for the heads and rockers..the Trick Flows and a ported 90/90 combo will get you way past 450 HP and up around 500 ..they are putting down the best numbers and are the best available at this time for a 346 cu. in. motor ... if you have to have the absolute best and are going to do some serious racing that is the way to go but you can make very good HP by spending half of that for a good running street car ..

Most cars in the 450 rwhp range hit that up around 6400 rpm. If you are are serious about a package with a shift point of 6000 rpm, that means making peak HP by 5700 rpm. 445 RWHP at 5700 is very stout for a "mild cam" without a FAST 90mm. A tight LSA cam with no advance might do the trick, but would cut-off some of the top and bottom end power.
Being open to shifting at 6300-6400 makes getting 450 rwhp with mild cam a lot more feasible.

A cam like Patrick G's torque cam with a 224/228 .637/.639 110 LSA would be a good choice and it makes big touque and HP under the curve .. you can shift it at 6200-6300..LS1 bottom end is plenty strong enough for that and then some..if you are really worried buy some Katech rod bolts and your bullet proof.

I have used LLoyd's stuff for my LT1 back when working with Brett Bauer. IMO one of the better guys out there for LT1 stuff BUT for LSx there are so many other names out there that IMO would get recommended first.
Do a search and you will see some common names pop up.

I talked to him on the phone a few months back when i was exploring my options first off u cant beat 1300-1400 for a heads cam package no one is going to beat that price. He was telling me that ls1 heads are alot easier to flow than lt1 heads becasuse a ported lt1 heads flows close to the same as a stock ls1 head so making a ls1 head flow is not much work since they flow great stock. Also u will notice that ls1 cams mostly have bigger lift and duration so that makes it easy to make power without spinning it to the roof. I will be selling my cam later on and going with him when im ready for heads, plus he is local for me!!
