look in sig.i think this package is capable of 11.5-11.6 runs. i ran a 12.0 @ 110mph bracket racing on the brakes, i was running 115mph all day.this was in 95 degree weather,& this is with a stock clutch & major tuning issues.i think with LS1 edit, LCA's,skinnies, & a good clutch so i can come out of the hole around 5k & not 4k will get me at my gole in 70 degree weather.

232/232 .574/.574 112.

Didn't get a clean pass with it last Friday when I went to the track but it did go 122.7 mph in 2200' DA running awefully rich

How in the world do you guys decide on which cam to get? In this post alone there are all kinds of different sizes. From 221/221 to 230/235! Whoa. Then there are lifts from .563, .574, .578 to .595! I really get confused with the LSA's. I know the lower you go the more the cam is gonna lope and you hear it but there has to be more to it than that. My dad said something about engines with low LSA's like 111 will have all kinds of raw fuel in the engine and it eats the walls of your cylinders. My buddy has a TR 230\224 with a 111 LSA and all you can smell is fuel when he's idleing. He has SLP LT's and no cats. I can't even imagine anything bigger than that considering that his car dies every once in while just by turning on the AC. It already shakes the whole car and sounds like a full blown dragster. Sometimes I want that but then I think its crazy and unpractical. He also has TEA Stage 2 heads. What kind of life will his engine have? He is still shifting at stock RPM's at 6200. He hasn't had it tuned yet either? To get the car to stop shaking so much he drilled a small hole in his TB. Will the tuning settle evrything down?
I'm looking for a street-friendly cam. I'm going to team it up with locally P&P Heads and Hooker LT's or MAC's. I will eventually add a LS6 Intake as well. I was leaning towards the TR 224/224 with a 112 LSA for a good but not obnoxious lope. My goal is 425rwhp. Will that cam get me there? After reading this Forum for a few days the 227/227 cam sounds kind of nice. My buddy that I'm talking about said that the LS1 is good on the intake side but not too good on the exhaust side. He wants to go with a larger Exhaust duration. Or hell maybe I have it backwards. I know he is adding a 150 shot of N2O and wants to change his cam out for it.
If you guys can answer at least a few of my questions I would greatly appreciate it. I mainly want to know if the 227/227 is too much for a DD and how much life it is going to reap out of my engine. Thanks in advance- Mike.

If you want a no hassle cam, get a 220/220'ish on a 114lsa. If you want a mild one that doesnt drive totally like stock, but isnt a hassle, go for a 224/224'ish sized one, again on a 114. If you want a mean bad boy daily driver and dont mind some hassle, go for the 230/224 111.

That sums it up IMO for m6 cars. I've had everything from small cams to large cams and right in the middle seems where I'm fine with. Most all I tried had steep ramp rates. The TR224 on a 114 has been my favorite cam of the 6 I've tried in my cars so far, but I'm trying a TR227/224 soon.

Wow I feel kind intimidated by all the big cams in this post.

I just use a C2. A 224/224 XE-R lobed cam in my 346 H/C combo.
But the performance has been pretty good comparitively.

LOTS more info on it on my web page.

Damn, I have cam envy!
I have the "Mini-Me cam", but it works great. I have the MTI T1 cam: 221/221 .558/.558 and 112 lsa. I need to raise the rev limiter again to about 6800rpm, and I need taller tires because of my 4.10 gears (I run out of gear in 4th before the traps). But I tried it out at the track anyway. On radials cutting a crappy 2.1 60' and I did 12.1 @ 119.69 hitting the rev limiter in 4th about 100-150 ft before the traps.

Peace,
Craig.

I love my B1. Pulls hard to the 6600 rev limiter.

Comp XE-R 226/226 .581/.581 114 +2

I really like this cam and it really hasn't been that big of a deal to live it. the track times in my sig do not reflect what this cam is capable of.
- it was the my only time out so far w/ the setup
- 2300' DA
- low shift points
- heavy race weight
- ran through cats and closed exhaust all the way to the bumper.

later,
Steve

I put some info I've gathered along the way in another post in this forum on what each number means and how it affects you.... Think it was like "help with heads and cam" or something like that.
