Re: What damage can bent pushrods do? Bent pushrods are caused by the valve hitting the piston - usually by over-reving with a manual tranny. If a bent pushrod is the only damage caused by this - consider yourself lucky. Bent valves and broken pistons are REALLY expensive to fix.
Replacement pushrods are about $5 a piece (16 in a set). You should do the work yourself. Just remove the coil packs, valve covers and rocker arms. Pull the bent rods, replace them, re-install the rockers, covers and coils.

Re: What damage can bent pushrods do? Just replaced mine. Do you heard a 'tapping' sound - in your engine? Loss of power? Good chance you got the 'bug'. I am totally machanical stupid. Most of the replacement is logical. Take your time. For complete details go to: www.ls1info.com

Ok my brother and I had did a head gasket replacement and 1 of us accidentally switched 2 of the push rods so ended up bending 1. Car didn't start just cranked it over noticed something wrong checked and bent push rod. So replaceed with the right ones so that's all good but it sounds sick with a horrible miss and the code throws cylinder 1 misfire that's it. So what happened and what did we screw up?

In LS engines, all 16 push rods are generally the same. Swapping 2 of them around generally has no effect.
So, first question to be answered is, what are you working on?
