2001 Corvette A4, 19k miles, stock motor, Procharger D1

car ran and drove, lot's of oil in the intake tract/FMIC

I suspect I had the same problem, even drove pretty well for 7 cylinders with no noise and only made slight noise putting it on the trailer to take it for a rebuild, but used alot of oil...engine hasn't been taken apart yet so I don't know for sure...

I had oil in the intake also...

No procharger though

engines are alot tougher than most people think. i had a 240 with a spun rod bearing that last 1500 pretty hard miles.

I have never seen a piston lose the second and third ringland and not lose the first, strange...

I have a piston that looks just like that from a 02 LS1 F-body car same one number 7.

my 00 F-body broke #7 ring landing and cracked #5 also. the stock pistons seams to be the weak link in our engines

My stock #7 piston in looked like that also except it's NA. Top of the piston was fine but the two lower ring lands were both cracked. Same deal oil in the intake both manifold and cold air. The day I saw the oil dripping out of the air filter at the autox I was like fxxk that can't be good.

#7 seems like the common piston to take a dump on most people. Happened to 2 people I know on the same night at the track.
