Default Thunder 230 hauls ***

Not sure exactly where to post this. Move it if needed. Just wanted to give the guys looking for a cam a heads up on the Thunder 230. I got a ride in Jason99TAs car Monday night and that thing is sick. It pulled like an animal in every gear all the way to 7000RPM. I couldnt believe how good it felt for a stock headed car. Once again, THunder has taken it to another level.

Thanx again Jason, awesome ride dude.Hope to see you soon....Speaking of that, are you heading to Bowling Green next weekend??

Awesome. I just put in a Thunder 227/224 cam. Curious to see how this reverse split cam does.

Hey Ron, thanks for the compliments. It was nice meeting you and Josh Monday night. I think my clutch is broke in now. LOL At least the tranny stayed together.

I don't plan on making Bowling Green. I have way too much school stuff to finish. I wish I could though.

Next time you are in town, I'll take you for a ride with the GTP stage 2s and the slicks. 1st and 2nd gear are going to feel sick.

Jason

Yessir, Jason's car definately lived up to the reputation it has on the boards. I figured it was going to fall on it's face in the higher mph with those stump pullin gears, but that damn thing kept pulling and pulling and pulling

Bro it was cool as hell that you drove out of your way to meet us, then go rip in your car. I do appreciate it, and had a good time meeting ya. We'll definately be back down there soon to check out some of the LSU boody walkin around ...

i will have a dyno by tuesday night. i had it dynoed but had problems with an bad o2 sensor. it seemed to peak around 6400 rpms. should i rev a whole lot more than that? i shift around 6600-6700 max. maybe i am not shifting high enough? maybe i should raise the limitor to 7000?

after looking at my dyno graph, and considering I have 3.73 gears, I decided to shift as late as possible. I shift at about 6800rpm with the limiter set at 7000rpm.

Vince, Jasons car makes as much power as yours with stock heads and through a 12 bolt with stump pulling gears He would mop ya up with ease...lol jk

Jason, I honestly dont know, His car flat out hauled ***. I havent been to the track with the new set up and XPs. He has trapped 121 in the 1/4. Best I ever got was a mid 120. It would be a good race. As for SOTP feel, I havent ridden in mine as a passenger to compare.

Justin, sorry bro, didnt know Hammond was kicking. Love to meet up at the Thunder shootout though

Ron if Jason's car sounds anything close to how your's sounded then it's got to be a beast. Your car sounds bad a$$. Man I'm lov'n the seats. Bill told me that he got in contact with you - don't know why I never got your emails - damn hotmail haha. Told Bill that when/if he gets seats from you that I wanted to go with him just so I could hear your car again, may take a ride back up on weekend just for the hell of it- I'll let ya know.

Josh - lov'n the mirror also as soon as I figured out the damn pin-out for it lol - works great.

You guys take my MONSTER for granted.. If I had to do it all over again I would not have purchased Flow Technics heads.. Jason is lucky I am going to be a spectator at the Thunder Shootout.. It would be embarrassing to get beat by a guy running 8's in the 1/4 on F1's

My friend just ordered the 230 reverse split. We'll be putting it in next week. He seems to think that this will be what he needs to keep up with me

I doubt that, but I hear good things about the cam. We'll put it to the test in a 99 TA, stock heads. Track times will follow install.
