G5x3
I'm thinking of getting a G5X3 232/240, .595/608, 112 lsa cam for the street. I do 90% of my racing on the highway and 10% at stop lights. Other than the 1.8 rockers that will get replaced by 1.7 for the cam, is this a good choice? Is anyone using this? This car is a 360 mile per week DD, I would still like some comfort.

LG motorsports produce great cams which make great power but if im not mistaken you are off on the specs.....duration seems about right but lift should be somwhere around .604/.608 or there about ....not totally sure????? Many people run the lg cams what be it G5x1 or 2 or 3 or 4. Just depends on if your daily driving the car if you are prepared to do a clutch or rearend....do you have support mods full intake full exhaust???? just gotta do some searches in the cam sticky and look for other posts on the G5 series

I went to the site and looked to make sure, its 2xx/2xx .600/.610 112 lsa.
This is a daily driver, but i want the most hp under the curve i can get without killing low end or idle. Top end power i gan give a little on. I currently go all out to 6k rpm, but i wouldn't mind bringing the power band a little lower in the rpm range. Whichever is better for the highway. I can care less about breaking the rearend "i have a spare" and i have a new z06 clutch assembly, i will get a better one if this one starts slipping. I'm running 3.42's torsen right now.

the x3 is a great cam. I've run one for over 2 years now. I had it on a 112 with my a4 and it would pull really hard up top. I was amazed one dat when it still had 2.73 gears in the car and pulled from like 130-160 it went by pretty fast. BTW the g5x3 is a cam that really shines when you up your compression. the curve once you mill your heads, run a thinner gasket and flycut is really nice. plus it sounds pretty mean too

Great cam, good for 400+ rwhp "cam only" and full boltons. Every possible bolton and x3 could go as high as 430 + rwhp on a zo6 and 420 possibly on the non zo6 (m6's not autos)

I "did a little research" and i was pondering keeping the 1.8's. I can't go any higher than .590 lift "comp 918's .625 max" .590/1.7 x 1.8 = .624.
The G2 cam has that lift but i'm looking for more options. I have read the entire cam guide and now my head hurts.

The Texas Speed 220/220 .581/.581 Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation.
This cam seems to fit the 1.8 rockers and according to the dca calc, its 8.27 at 114 lsa.
Any suggestions?

220/220? Now you are going backwards. Since you are looking for a "from a roll" cam, I would say a MS4. They produce good peak numbers but lag in the torque at 2.5k's. But you won't be needing those low-end numbers if you highway race. The G5X3 is a great cam and one that I will put in my car because I like launching from lights because 99.9% of the competition around here probably have a 60ft of 2.5 seconds.
Good luck to you bro!

ok, i listened to the ms4 and fm13.......NO WAY!!!!!!......i'm gonna go stealth now.
i'm gonna probly look at the stealth2 or that 220 cam i was looking at earlier.
my car is too loud now and 110-111 lsa would just make it worse. I'm gonna probly go full sleeper now. thx for all the inputs guys.

I just had a cam similar to the x3 it was a 234/242 591/601 114+4lsa. It was very powerful. But seems to lack TQ under 4K. I'm not sure why. It must have to do with the set up of the cam and were the power comes in. Above 4K rpms and it was a monster.
I also had a TR230/224 This cam was awesome on stock heads and ls6 intake/headers. It had a lot of TQ down low and pulled to about 6500rpms. This would be good for the street. It has a great lumpity sound as well.
I now have a 236/236 .651/.651 110+4lsa. Still figuring it out. But it seems to really shine from 3500rpms on up. And by 5K it is screaming. It pulls REALLY hard on the top end. Still waiting for a tune and some dyno time.
There is 3 of my experiences. FWIW.

I know most people would say steer clear of the CheaTR since you already have headers, but I think it would satisfy your requirement for stealth, and offer good power potential. Another way would be to design a custom cam that offers similar durations and overlap, but with less split between the intake and exhaust. A 222/222 on 117 LSA cam has the same overlap.

G5X3 is a 234/242, the G5X2 is 232/240 and the G5X4 is 240/244
If you want to go big enough but maintain more lower end look at a custom G5X2 on steroids:
231/240, .643/.608 112+4 (LSK/XE-R)
that would be a jump of at least 30+rwhp on what you are, still bery streetable and good lope to match. 1.8 rockers would have to go and pro tuning a must.
Something similar but a bit tamer:
227/232 .639/.595 110+2 LSA
If you plan on sticking with the 1.8 rockers, any cam above .550 lifts with fast ramps will be a bit of an issue controling the valves.
You could also look at Crane/VINCI cams
