108 LSA?
im really looking for what would keep me from running a lower lsa cam on one of our fuel injected engines and why? last time i posted this i didnt get the results i had hoped for so i just thought i'd toss this one out again.
im about to get a custom grind done and i see plenty of guys going with 110 LSA cams on these motors. i want to know why you dont see anyone attempting a 108? could it be done with custom tuning, MAF-T, drilling the TB, tricking the IAC ect?? what do you guys think? BTW im an M6 guy so i dont really have to worry about a converter. ;D just looking for a little imput.

The LT1 guys who have tried it have not had any luck, you may want to contact Madman since I am sure he has pushed this envelope before.

Re: 108 LSA?
thanks fenris, im just wondering what the actual cause of it is? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> MAP sensor dosent like it i assume? i had thought about using a vaccum can, like you would with a large cam and power breaks, but i think it's a little much of a stretch. anyone else? Madman?

Re: 108 LSA?
I can tell you that a 108* lSA wont work as good with backpressure, open headers and you will probably gain some. You can probably tune to get it to work for street use but why bother if it loses power compared to 110* with your exhaust closed?

Re: 108 LSA?
Just guessing here, but it seems like it would kill your vacuum at idle and drop your compression way down. you'd probably have to set your idle way high which would need a big torque convertor. and the power curve would have a lot of peaks to it. Seems like too much of a headache to mess with. Just my opinion.

Re: 108 LSA?
Dudes with shorter LSA on long runner intakes low tq production is not hurt much.
On the Mustangs the hot LSA is 109, the cams produced by Ed @ FlowtechInductionSystems.
Once someone starts running tight LSA's on the LS1's, it will become vogue.

My daily driver is 241/253 on a 106 LSA. It can be done! Higher CR's will help and you do need a good flowing exhaust system. My car really wakes up with open exhaust. I am running the stock ZO6 titanium mufflers. I am still tweeking on the program. It is a challenge, but I like the sound of the car.
