Default H/C guys, question about injectors

A friend is doing a H/C/I setup on his LS1 crate motor. The setup should make close to 500fhp. His crate motor didn’t come with injectors and he needs to know which ones to get and what size….

Could anyone tell me what size and kind of injector you are using and how much power you are making with your setup? Any info would be a big help.

He talked with Ford racing and they said their EV1 30lb are only good for 430FHP at 90% duty cycle. So not sure if they would be enough.

Thanks!

Go with Ford SVO 42lbs. I got mine for $200 used with 5K miles on them off a cobra guy. Easy to tune.

Go with the Ford SVO 42lb'ers.They leave plenty of extra room to grow on a H/C setup. Fueling will not be a problem with these injectors and an upgraded pump like the racetronix setup.

i have stock and they work fine you wont gain any numbers from stock to 42 but you will have room to expand like brad8266 said.

thanks guys...

slammed do have heads and cam...sorry but I'm not up on all the lingo for sigs. if you do I wonder why some use stock and others go as high as 42lb. What's the limit for the stockers??

Also, would it be more difficult to tune with larger injectors than really needed?

thanks for any info you can give. Me and friend are newbies when it comes to H/C for an LS1...

Some push the envelope with the duty cycle. The Larger injectors will be easier to tune, IMHO, since you will have a little more leeway, and not have to be creative to maintain the A/F ratio... etc.

I would recommend the 42lb SVOs as well, with the Racetronix fuel system you should be set. My wife is currently running 30lb SVOs with the Racetronix on our Camaro, but I would not mind the added expansion room the 42lbs allow.

Good luck with your set up!

yes i do have heads and cam, stock injectors are good and proven to handle about 450 to the wheels. not saying my setup will do that but there are people who have though

<- is running a set of 32# Racetronix injectors and so far so good. Flow more in the neighborhood of 36# with the LS1.

Car put down 430rwhp with old setup. New setup yet to be dynoed.
