What would it take to do rod bearings while your in there? Just pull the cap off and push the piston up a little and replace? Is it possible to do it this way while still in the car?

This might hold some guys. I just had to get the pan off, (did rod boltsa few years ago when I had the motor out) but did it without dropping the Kmember so you could do rodbolts this way. Not 100% sure on with the stock Kmeber, once the pans off you have a few inches over it. I don't think you can see every rod easy, but can change the bolts one at a time and tq them, over the bigger Kmeber I bet. I also had the trans out, so the oil pan slid out the back after jacking the motor up a little. Intake was on too.

Thanks for this write up!!! I've been looking at how to replace my oil pan gasket (topping off my oil almost every 2 weeks ) and couldn't find anything. Great write up!
