Default Does anyone have an X1 cam in ther ls1

If so how does it work for yall i just installed on in my 383 all stroke motor but have not yet fine tuned it. I just wanted to know if the split reverse pattern is working for the ls1's with heads. My car fills strong with the new motor but I don't know if the cam is hurting it or helping it since I put it all in at once.

I do and have had no problems at all. Great power and driveability when matched up to a set of MTI's Stage II LS6 heads.

I like it very much! I have a 383 and I could go with much biger cam, but the X1 is just the right cam for me with an amazing driveability!
Have a look at my Dyno! Click here 383 with X1 Dyno

I`m getting one with stage 2 heads Oct 7th, putting on a stock 2001 bottom end. From what I understand it runs great.

Hey Ruff is your 383 all bore or stroke and did MTI do your tuning on the PCM? I just want to get a rough idea on where my HP stands with that cam FLP headers my own port and polishing job and true dual exhaust. Oh and the heads have all the appro. valve tain like the right spings and retainers. I also added a LS6 MAF hope it help a little not to mention my own fabricated stainless air lid. Just to keep things flow nice and smooth.

ramair,

I have a 383 stroker. MTI did the tuning. I had problems with ARE heads before the cam. That is why the #s are 450 rwhp and 447 rwtq. MTI did there best to fix the problem that I had with the heads. If I had GTP heads, I think I could get about 5-10 or more rwhp!!

Hey Ruf SS did you have any problems with your bakes at low or crusin speeds. When my car is at high rpms they work fine but a low rpms the peadle goes all the way down. I'm thinking theres not enough vacume.

ramair,

No brake problems and vacume issues at all!

I think you have some vacume leak for sure!

Check out the vacume hose that goes from the brake master to the intake. I bet it is leaking or some thing is wrong with it.

Question, What heads do you have (ARE, GTP,etc)?

MTI is putting one in my 2001WS6 A4 with stage 2 heads next week. Can`t wait!! Hoping for some good numbers, They are going to tune on dyno with LS1 edit. I hope mid 11`s on motor when done, and mid to high 10`s with my shot
