G5X3 cam and what head specs?
Im going with the G5X3 cam and Patriot LS6 ported heads.
My question is what specs should I go on the heads with this cam? cc's, intake and exhaust valves?
Also, Im getting a oil pump, timming chain, dual springs, pushrods and gaskets...anything else I need?
Thanks

I talked to patriot and they said...
I could go with the 64cc 202 intake 157 exhaust lift and 'should' be ok. Or to be safe go with the stock 200 intake 155 exhaust lift.
My main worry is pistion to valve clearance. Would I need flycutting/milling? What specs should I go with on the heads?

I have the Lg x3, with stock heads and there isn't a whole lot of room left. I think you can go with the bigger valves. but I wouldn't mill if you don't want to flycut.
I'm curious why Patriot wouldn't know the exact answer, instead of "should be o.k."??

Well I think because of the fact that LG doesn't give the exact spec on the cam duration...it's just 2XX/2XX.
Im leaning toward the stock valve size of the ls6. So basically it would just be stock, ported? Is this worthwhile?

I am running the G5X3 in my stalled A4... along with bolt on's, LS6 heads ( unported) LG actually built my motor.. no flycutting and i am get 403rwhp/405rwtq out of my Auto. Took it on a long trip the other day and actually got 21 mpg!! drove it 312 miles on a tank of fuel.. NO BS!!
Mine is daily driven.. it is an awesome cam... i hope to do AFR 205's sometime in the near future...
Good luck, you will absoluetly love that G5X3..

X3 will only fit on stock valve unmilled 243s with stock gasket.
Now by LS6 if you mean "LS6 Style" like 6.0, a 2.02/1.57 valved unit "might" clear. But will it be safe, that is another story.
The wise advice would be measure PTV. I'm not an advocate of running less than .07/.09 on street setups, even that is what I consider tight.

I don't want to get into milling and all that though...
I also dont want any problems, and would rather be safe than sorry.
But, is it really worth while to the patriot "ls6 style" heads at stock valve size? How much will I gain with the stock size valves?
What do you mean by running .07/.09?

I've also been reading how the 243 casting is better than the "ls6 style."
Basically, is there any recomendations on what exact heads and specs to go with and work with the G5X3 around or under $1500.

Patriot LS6 "style" heads, actualy 6.0 casting, with welded 59cc chambers and 2.00/1.55 valves and stock MLS gasket.
That will fit and you still benefit from 59cc chambers and raise in compression.
