Default Questions, am installing a crankcase evac system

I have a 4-6-8 Caddy setup I am going to install into the car.

I have the LS6 pcv system on my car, and 99-02 style valve covers.

Suggestions on how to plumb it all?

is that similar to the ford type unit?
we have played with crank case stuff around my place on some cars with serious issues..it seemed to work somewhat ok. gotta get the right parts and install them correctly.

i like the ford diesel trcuk crankcase pumps..you could also run the electric pump from a ford lightning or a cobra...

I've given up on mine for now, and am starting to plan on a belt-driven vacuum pump setup...

My electric pump died on me a while back...

Why haven't more people used the FREE A.I.R. pump as an evacuation? I have it on my LS as well as my wifes LT1. They work fine. Granted they are not the perfect setup, but it is free and it DOES THE JOB. No oil in the intake and my LS1 has no oil in the output of the AIR pump. My wifes car has 87,000 miles on it, so it does see some oil on the output tube. But,again, there is NO oil in the intake. That is what we are after in the first place.

Wasn't there a thread on this a while ago that showed how that thing couldn't move enough air to make it worthwhile?

1) Hook the vacuum pump to the LS6 valley cover and suck from there.

2) Run the stock LS1 pcv crossover pipe from the rear of each valve cover.

3) Run the fresh air line from the front psg side valve cover to the throttle body.

4) plug PCV hole on intake manifold, and cap off the PCV fitting on unused portions of your stock PCV assembly (dunno how the "ls6" piping is different).

Oh, btw, that pump will fit under your battery/coolant tray in the passenger fender in front of the front tire. I didn't even have to drill any new holes, just used existing ones to bolt the bracket in. Stuck my catch can down in the fender too, and had the drain plug of it point down to where the access door is for the foglamps on the bottom of the front bumper. No hassles, nothing visible, I loved it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
