I believe the stock rev limiter is at 6200. And what year is the car? the 98-00 had weaker rod-bolts and people arnt usually taking them past 6400. Either way, as long as its not tapping or knocking its *** off, you should be fine,

why would u keep ur foot on the gas pedal if u heard it rev "high"? plus if the rev limiter was reset it would have sounded like it was missing! at that rpm or could be set higher. what are your mods? if any. if your not hearing taping/knocking that was not there before then u r probably ok. how is engine/car running? any different then before if nothing there too. then u should be fine. just becarefull where u place ur foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My stock bottom end, cam + boltons 1998 LS1 had just over a 140,000 miles and had a rev limiter set at 6800, and never had a problem with rod bolts or spinning main bearings. I had a few different cams in the car from 80,000 miles up to 140K, and turned it to the rev limiter ALOT! That motor ended up with no rings left and a very badly blown head gasket...but all the rod and main bearings looked good.
