Stage 2 Heads/Cam base dyno numbers 436 rwhp/394 rwtq
This was a buddy of mines car. He has AAP Stage 2 6.0 heads (they flowed 342 @.600" intake and 237@.600" exhaust) and an AAP custom 230/236 .598/.598 111 lsa cam. The car has a lot more in it, this was done with a stock TB and MAF (not descreened), Mac headers (ball flanges cut), single cut out on the i-pipe, 17x11's with 23 psi (pretty low), M6 stock rear with 3.73's, LS6 intake, no ASP Pulley, minor LS1 edit tuning (gear cal., rev limiter, cags, idle, no fuel, no timing) We're hoping for high 440's with some more dyno tuning and the bolt ons

Hey that sounds like my car! Thanks Tony. I'm very pleased with the results. Mark hasn't done any tuning for power yet, just to get it to idle. I think with the MAF and TB back on, and tuning we should be able to hit 450 (we're doing this on Nov. 2nd). Not bad for a heads and cam car. I was very pleased with the results today. Couldn't believe I left the tires at 23 psi. Whoever said Macs don't flow was crazy!
The flow numbers are correct. He had them flowed on the same flow bench MMS goes to.

Verbs I believe they were milled to get ~11.5:1 CR. Vince, yeah I know the flow numbers sound too good to be true, my AAP 5.3 heads flowed 317 @.600" (but my heads were done by their previous guy). My new 6.0's for the 388 however will be done by the same guys as Micah's

Those are good numbers through the stock rear end. Expect a 12-15rwhp loss if you go to a 12bolt.

Congrats Micah! Wait till you get all that little stuff on and have Mark really tune it! Next time put some more air in the tires on those heavy a$$ 17x11 chrome wheels!! Can't wait to see it on the dyno and at the track on the 2nd!

What does AAP stand for? Do they have a website?
What size valves and what is the intake port volume?
Great numbers BTW!

Keep in mind Terry that your water pump alone is probably worth 10-15 rwhp; don't worry once Micah gets all the bolt ons and some dyno tuning he'll be dynoing more than your h/c setup :-D (he's going for a road race setup so don't expect him to beat your track time though )
SpeedDemon: AAP stands for Andy's Auto Performance, they are a local shop down here in Southern California, they will soon be a sponsor on this site. As for the heads give them a call (626)447-3707 and ask for Mark, he can give you more info on them.

There are not many guys who dyno higher than I did (including you!), so you'll understand if I take your claim with a grain of salt. All I know is with my MMS "stage 2" parts I made 446rwhp and ran 10.87@127mph.

Ok, so 6 rwhp from the EWP and 11 rwhp from dyno tricks; that puts you at 429 rwhp sans the dyno tricks and and water pump (just like Micah). I do give you props for going as fast as you did at such a sihtty track like c-bad, but again I thikn you could have gone faster with someone else's heads

Hey my car was untuned also. With more tuning I would have hit 470rwhp on the dyno.

I will have to agree that flow numbers do not always equal HP. Mine only flowed 287cfm peak but they made hella power. Terry do you have a stock rear end also?

Man, you've gotta love the bench racing! What bore were they flowed on? What valve sizes? Were the spark plugs in? Did they use a flow bench? We achieved 440 RWHP in a '99 C5 with a 228/228 Comp XE-R and a set of 6.0L heads that flowed 298 cfm. Do you have a flow sheet that you could post up?

Re: Stage 2 Heads/Cam base dyno numbers 436 rwhp/394 rwtq
Yes Trevor, I've sadly been reduced to bench racing since my motor blew up, it's not as fun as actual racing, but it gets me by . The valves were 2.08" intake and 1.60" exhaust, the heads were flow matched to the cam. Mark from Andy's is on vacation this week, I will definitely get the flow sheet and post when he is back
