Heads/Cam package - Your thoughts
I want your opinion on my setup I'm thinking about.
- Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft w/lobe seperation of 111.
- AFR 205cc Mongoose heads with a 66cc chamber.
- And of course all the supporting mods and what not.
- Possably deck the head as well to increase compression? Not sure about this one.
Should sound pretty bad *** with my headers/X-Pipe ad other bolt ons.
-From what I been hearing I'm going to have to flycut the pistons as well. Whats the pros and cons of flycutting your pistons?
I have also been looking at the a "less agressive" Magic Stick V.3 237/242 .603/.609" w/lobe seperation at 112.
Would this be considered a good street/strip setup?

Fly cutting depends how much milling your going to do to the heads. I would look at a G5x4 and only milling a little or vengeance racing vindicator which seems to work very good with lower compression motors should not have to flycut either.

If youre replaceing the heads then flycut the pistons about .100 no doubt dont even consider not doing it. That way you can get away with a smaller head gasket and a head mill both of which will bump up the compression. I would run a .040 gasket
After you flycut the pistons perform a PTVC test too see how much room you have to work with to mill the heads and mill them as far as you can to get to PTVC of .080 intake/.100 exhaust.
Do not dare mill the heads unitl you check your PTVC!!
