Default Thunder 230 or M.T.I. X1 cam info needed

right now i have a MTI T1 cam and all bolt ons.
My car put down 394 hp to the wheels with this setup. I need to know if the there would be any gain over the T1 with the TR 230 or MTI X1. I would like to shave my heads .0030 and get them machined for double valve springs. I really need to know if putting a bigger cam in would benifit
me any with stock unported milled .0030 heads.
I have the motor apart right now so this would
be a good time. I will be ordering everything tommorrow if can i find out everything i need to know. My car is a 6 speed and i do not care about driveability. Thanks in advance Kerry

Oops! I meant .030 cut on the heads. I've ordered forged pistons with 2cc valve reliefs from Lunati
and the wait for the pistons to come in is 4-6 weeks. So I have time to decide on which cam to go with. With the pistons and the .030 cut, I think that the compression ratio will end up around 10.6 to 1. Any info greatly appreciated.

Well I changed my mind about the valve reliefs in the pistons, and I'm going with the smooth flat top forged. I called back and asked about the CC's of the valve reliefs in the pistons and he said 6cc. So, I swapped the order back to the flat tops to keep from decreasing the compression too much because it seems like 6cc would be a lot to lose. I am gonna go with the TR230 cam and a .015 cut on the heads. Anybody know the possibility of running thin head gaskets with this set up? Please chime in
Thanks Kerry

Is it possible to have the TR230 cam, mill the heads and use a thinner head gasket to achieve the 11.1:1, and use 7.35 pushrods and still maintain good valve train geometry? Or is there even a point to using shorter pushrods? I know for sure it will not work unless you have different pistons or shorter pushrods but I didn’t know if it was possible with just the pushrods.

Thanks guys, when the cam makes it in I will check the valve clearance with one of the stock pistons. That way I can go ahead and order the right gaskets for it. For clearance issues, the valve reliefs of course would be the way to go
but I like the flat tops for good flame travel.

The only way you are going to change geometry is with different valve lengths or rocker pedestal heights, not just changing head thickness and push rod length. So dont worry about geometry, but who sells .034" head gaskets?
