Guess it depends on how mechanically inclined you are. I found my first cam install to be pretty easy - just took things very slowly and used some of the excellent guides posted around (I have them all if you want). After doing my own install (and now a friends), I'd never pay someone. Wasn't hard, just took a couple days..

It varies depending on where you are, I've seen from $1400 to $750 quoted in my area.

I know a local speed shop around here wants 800 just to put the cam in, not springs, not retainers nothing, just the cam, not even with tuning, I just did my own cam install, it was a breeze, the hardest part was the springs, it was like changing out lowering springs 16times, i think I developed carpel tunnel syndrome!

Jeff...

If you don't have them, borrow a good set of tools and do it yourself.

If you were'nt a gearhead, you wouldn't even be on this message board... Do it yourself!

I agree with with these guys, do it your self. Just think about what you can do with the money you would spend on labor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
