Default B1 owners part 2

Ok I have the cam in and I dynoed it about 2 weeks ago saw a good gain. I used to dyno 309rwhp and 318rwtq, now I dyno 342rwhp and 339rwtq. That was with a stock intake, and stock TB. I have a LS6 intake and will port my TB, and I was wondering. If I was to buy the aftermarket timing belt, could I advance the timing and see more of a gain?

To really benefit from the B1 (or any other cam)you need headers!

See sig for my mods with B1

I have tha same headers as you (SLP LT's). I dynoed on a outside dyno in 95 degree weather in Vegas. Personally I don't dig dynos but if I can see a gain with a belt, I'll do that.

Timing belt? what kinda cars do you think these are?!!@#

Be happy with what you have. I wouldnt mess with the timing. Any advance MTI felt the cam needed probably came ground into the cam.

If you are really determined, buy an adjustible set of timing gears, rent a day on the dyno, and play with the settings. Better off just buying a bigger cam if you want more power.

I agree with the other guys, get headers. I still need a ls6 intake then I'm done. I hope to get 390 rwhp when I'm done

You guys are killing me, I have SLP LT's. I dynoed the 342rwhp and 339 rwtq with a A4, 3.42's,LT's, and just the cam. I had no LS6, no ported TB, and no underdrive. I would like to see between 360-380.

LOL, get headers

Seriously, might want to consider the intake side of things (including the temperature on the day you dyno). Lid, LS6 intake, TB (maybe) should be about it... not sure I'd go with messing with the timing any.

Next mod, for auto is a trq convertor. Let me quess? you have one of those already, too!

I think what you are asking about is an aftermarket "pully" not a timing belt. Yes, you could probably gain about 3-5hp with a pully.

did you swap in a v-tec? we don't have overhead cams and adjustable cam gears, we have a timing chain. you could get a adjustable chain set but i dont think it would be worth the gains. now a buddy of mine with a supra got like 20hp by retarding his intake cam and bumping the boost. i think it was intake....
