Is 400+ hp possible with stock Ls1 heads and streetable cam?
With all the bolt ons but no power adders, can an ls1 put out 400+ rwhp with the stock heads and a streetable cam?

i've never seen one yet. the most i've seen is between 370-390 hp. i'm not saying it can't be done, just in 4 years i've never seen it.

you can probably get pretty close, but in order to eek out those last few ponies it's going to get more and more expensive and that money could be used elsewhere for more power and/or better times.
Things I'm talking about are CF DS, light weight flywheel, etc.

do a search. There have been quite a few people here lately putting out 390-410 on stock heads with (relatively) mild cams. Jason99T/A put out i believe 410 with the TR 230/224, and i've seen some other putting out numbers in the 400rwhp range with the 224/224 cams.

i dont know personally but i remember some threads about guys making 400+ at the wheels with small cams like the b1 and t1. one guy on here has made 390 with just boltons so im sure 400rwhp with a small cam is possible.

Who made 390rwhp plus just bolt on's? I know of two cars dyno'ing over 400rwhp that was not open headers.. This is not the norm.. It is rare.. People make the mistake of seeing one car do it and think that every car can do it.. Thats not going to happen.. I dyno'd 390rwhp/380rwtq with T1 cam and Mac Headers with Ed W. programming. No dyno tricks, no cutouts, no ported TB, no maf ends, no shortbelt, no true duals, no alum flywheel, no carbon fiber driveshaft, etc.. Just lid, pulley, cam, headers, and programming.. There is no telling what I would have dyno'd with all the goodies..

I guess it really depends on what you consider "streetable". Most cams I consider streetable would fall short of the 400 mark with stock heads.

My friend James has dynoed 399rwhp, stock heads. Bolt-ons+headers+Cam on a M6. Cant get any closer than that <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Is 400+ hp possible with stock Ls1 heads and streetable cam?
I got 370hp with a TR 220 on 114 Cam and longtubes.Emmision legal and stockish idle.
I have no underdrive pulleys or any other dyno tricks.Running in a 01 TA M6 with 3.42's.
400 hp can be achieved with a TR 230/224 Cam and a real good tune.Drivability is not very street friendly without some steep gears.

I am having it dyno tuned at AMS tomorrow, and am hoping for 375rwhp and close to that in torque.
