Keep in mind not all dynos are the same, come dyno low and some extremely high. Also many people here exagerrate or embelish a bit on the true power of the H/C, or are playing the dyno number game. Just seems kind of funny of some stage 2 H/C cars(using a cam thats been being used for over 6months to a year) are putting down as much or MORE RWHP and RWTQ then major tuner shop's 382 strokers (all-bore or all stroke)with stage 2 heads and a big cam. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Cartek has been claiming some impressive numbers.

The highest I have seen from them is 450 out of a H&C car (one of which just went 10.98 the other day).

I have heard that several MTI X-pkg cars have made 445. I have not heard of any in the 450 range.

Darth Vetter made 447 in his H&C 2001 Z06.

I have seen an ARE car dyno 448RWHP and 410RWTQ with LS6 heads and XE-R cam and another 440/408RWTQ.

Anywhere from 400-430RWHP is the norm for most vendors with a Stage 2 HCI setup and ALL boltons.

Peak dynos are definitely not the "be all,end all" though

Lots of vendors are in the 400-430 range pretty consistently through a six speed. Have a look at area under the curve as well in your comparision and how much RWHP falls after HP peak.

Personally I think it is far better indicator of a persons HCI package when you know how much a car weighs, its gearing, tranny type, tire type and how fast it ET/mph's at the track.

You can have peaky dyno graphs that run like *** at the track.

Also there are quite a few dyno tricks that mean **** on the track/street (can actually slow you down) but look great on the dyno.

Cartek's X-package heads and cam cars are putting out 450+rwhp...the one mentioned above just ran a quicker ET of 10.89...

I've heard "rumors" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> of guys with GTP heads and the TR 230 cam pushing 460rwhp. Thats on a stock rear end with some good 11.x:1 compression.

I'm sure you'll find people with solid rollers getting even more power out of their 346's.

I don't know if it's on the board or not but I saw someone post there was a C5 vette making 470+rwhp with a Grand Am Racing Cam. 239/251 duration with very high lift. That's the most I've heard of a stock cube 346

The Grand Cup cam is supposedly capable of making those power levels with the LS6 CNC heads. However, no dyno sheets or actual claims by anyone who has one has ever been made public. So, it is purely speculation what it does or does not make...

My understanding about the Cartek cars is that they have made 450RWHP with 3.90 gears, which if I understand corectly would read higher HP numbers if they were still using the 3.42's.

Brent is now running a 4.10 (which I am amazed is still in the car). The 4.10 has a very small pinion and many folks have broekn them with fairly low power levels.

I am impressed with the performance level achieved by Cartek. I do not know if a comparison has been done to compare the power levels of their Stage IIx package in an F-Body.

The Corvette is going to measure differently that an F-Body simply because of the IRS.

As for Darth's car. I can't say one way or the other. It was in his sig forever that he made 447, hence the reason I posted it. He was on the Z06 site and the Corvette site with that in his sig... I never saw anyone disagree with those numbers. But I guess its a moot point since he got rid of the car.

Anyway, looks like Cartek is slightly ahead both in dyno numbers and in ET currently. Anyone else MTI, MMS, etc... got some comparable numbers...

Cartek did back to back dyno passes changed the gears and made more pulls and there is a difference....all done the same day!!
