Sometimes they do. The rings are breaking in to the cylinders and the oil ring will let some by while this is happening.

I assume a fresh motor is one that has been re-built with new rings

Really I have noticed it to be under hard accel. The motor has about 3200 miles on it. My main concern the car had an injector stuck and was running really rich, just hoping I didnt wash my rings.

is it noticeable at any other times, besides WOT? is it burning a noticeable amount, to where you have to add some. Rings should be seated by 3200 miles.

No not noticable any other time. I have actually checked today and it is dead on full so maybe nothing serious, just gonna keep an eye on it.

It will burn off a little oil when it's new, but I would think by 3200 miles the rings should be fully seated and it wouldn't be using oil. I have 300 miles on a new crate motor and it still burns a little under hard accel.
