I have found a small-really small coolant leak between head and block over #6 cylinder. The car is running fine N/A and on spray. I noticed a small-small puddle under the car 2-3 races ago after unloading off of trailor (2-3 times) I have no signs of detonation on autotap or by sound. Again it runs fine. Could this be due to the wrong head gasket installed? I searched and found a post from SDPC about different year gaskets. I am trying to find out which gasket I used for sure. I pulled the plugs out of #4 &6 and they look fine, no signs of coolant at all. As small as this leak is it may not show on plug anyway. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? run it untill it gets worse? Replace both gaskets with something better? replace one side with factory? build a killer 434?

FYI
this motor has been together for 8-9 months with no problems. I do not have a puddle in driveway after driving normally, just on trailor after racing...
Long: I'd take the cap off COLD, top it up the the botton of the neck of the radiator, just somewhere where you can remember the level. Then check it every day COLD. If you have to add coolant check the hoses. If you still have to add it's going somewhere.

Seems to close up once the block/heads come up to temp. Nothing in the cylinders.
Let me know what you find. I'm tempted to just use some aluminum block seal. Lazy man's out but a lot easier than pulling a head. Also might try to every so slightly tighten the head bolts near #3.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
thats the thread I was talking about. I think I will run it one more time as is. I am doing shocks/torque arm now and want to test before years end. After that I will probably replace that side gasket only. I will tell you guys what I find. I might as well change the gasket..it isn't that hard and I will have car down for a week or so swapping convertors.
NEXT QUESTION....IF I DO START A NEW MOTOR WHAT SHOULD I DO? IRON BLOCK? 422-436? $$ FOR $$ WHICH IS BEST?
