quick question...how badly am I going to Strangle this cam.. if i'm using stock manifolds? i have a MAC ory and a TSP Rumbler with the dynomax bullet.. so after the manifolds its pretty unrestricted... i will go to Pacesetters later.. but not for like another 3-4 months...

Do longtubes before you do a cam.

2 answer your question, you won't see much gain w/ stock manifolds, maybe 10-15rwhp if that.

get a cut-out also! let it breathe out a lil bit more. if you run it through a cat-back make sure its a really good flowing cat-back.

so you're saying going from a STOCK cam and springs..

to my milled 241 heads, ORY and TSP cat back... stock manifolds are going to hold back 60rwhp because i dont have long tubes??? somehow i dont think so..

considering people are seeing 375-400rwhp with this cam, granted they have long tubes.. but i dont think long tubes are going to net me 60rwhp with this cam... my current system puts me at 325rwhp.. and thats just my mods in my sig...

15 extra puts me at 340rwhp.. .. long tubes wont hold THAT much in.. everything else is free flowing.. Not cats, the TSP rumbler is the most free flowing cat back out there...

i would expect to see at least 355-360rwhp(with tuning).. and when i add long tubes..380-390rwhp(with tuning)..

anyone else agree or disagree?

trust me ...you need long tubes to get the full advantage of the cam ....and your set up. what are all your mods?

mods build on each other, you ever wonder how a ms4 makes 80hp in a free flowing car? put that cam in a car with manifolds and it might make 15hp. put lt's on that same motor and itll free up so much ,that its not the lt's making the power, its the cam finally being able to breath enought to make the power. thats why lt's are supporting mods

Why don't you go ahead and do what your gonna do, get it on the dyno, then when you throw the long tubes on report back w/ another dyno and see the difference. I guess since the motor is out of the car you might as well throw the cam in there, otherwise it would be silly to do a cam before the longtubes.

yep i can do that... good thing my friend owns the dyno shop.. i basically have unlimited access to it.. So i will do the before and after.. (tuned of course). Cam wont be here until early next week. tuning a few days after that.. so next weeknd i will be able to do the before test.
