How's this Cam 228/224 578/565 112 lsa
I was looking at the TR 230/224 cam but I don't want to rev my motor to 7000. I have stock heads and dont plan on aftermarket heads anytime soon. I want the most I can get out of a cam only setup. I have read some posts that the reverse split are best for a M6 and stock heads.

I originally orderd the 227/224, but was told it's just a slight step up from the 224/224.
I just orderd the TR230/224. I got it over the 224/224 because I want every advantage I can get. The 224/224 would be better for a broad powerband, and half throtle driving. <Daily driving> I figure when I want to go fast. I'm not going to just go halfway fast. The gas pedal will be to the floor and my RPM will stay up top. I'm going set my rev limiter at 7000, but I'll shift around 6500-6700 when Im running hard. I don't think I'll ever rev it to 7000RPM
Most dyno graph I have seen with the 230/224. The HP peak is around 6300 RPM. IMO you could shift around 6500rpm and get use of all the power.

The 228/224 mentioned is the same duration @ .050" lift that we run on our reverse-split camshaft. It's 228/224, .588"/.581", 111 LSA. The cam makes some awesome power and doesn't require you to rev the car to 7,000 RPM. We can grind the cam on a wider LSA if desired, but the 111 LSA will still provide you with great mid-range and keep the cam from carrying power out too far on the top-end.

If your heads can flow at that valve lift it looks like a good cam. Whan and if I get a cam I will not be getting heads. My home-porting of the heads will probably not flow much after .570" lift. So I will be going with a similar cam except with lifts of .568" intake and .558" exhaust. This will also allow me to use the REV double springs that do not require cutting the heads. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> Might try it on a 110° LSA and 4° advanced for an IC of 106 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> !
