Question about the specs on my cam....
Once i started doing some research and learning more about cams i was afraid i made a mistake. Several people have told me that the LSA and the advance in the cam were hurting me. But now i have read a few threads where people are talking about how good the 110 +4 is.
The cam is a Comp Custom Grind 230/230 .591/.591 110LSA +4
Right now my rev limiter is set to 6900rpm because the car keeps pulling to there. My car doesn't even start making power until about 3500rpm it feels like. Every person i race kills me off the line and then i have to reel them in up top.
This car is my daily driver so i dont want to be spinning it up that high just to keep up with other cam only cars. So i guess i'm just wondering what ya'lls thoughts are on the cam.
Also on a side note i might have a chance to get a HPE "S" cam from a buddy soon. Should i just stick with mine or go with something else? Thanks !

My goals are always changing it seems like. I would love for this car to become my weekend/track car. But as of right now its my only mode of transportation. So i can't go too big. As of right now i have a headers and true duals dumped at the axle, but i am thinking about selling the true duals and going back to a catback setup just so it will be suttle enough to drive every day. I was just wondering where this cam stood as far as all around performance. Am i killing myself by having the powerband so high?
I might be getting heads and spray in the next couple of years but for the time it is going to stay cam only.

I was kind of depressed with my numbers too but here is the lowdown on how the car was setup with the times it ran:
the 12.5 @ 113.7mph run was with 3.73 gears and rev limiter set at 6400rpm on Mickey Thompson ET Drag radials.
I haven't updated my new times yet but the last time i went to the track was as follows:
12.70 @ 114.9mph with the stock 3.42s back in the car (blew up the 3.73s a weekend before), on STREET TIRES, 2.1 60'. with the rev limiter at 6900rpm. I shifted 1st and 2nd gear at 6600rpm-6700rpm and then hung third and would hit the limiter just as i crossed the 1/4 mile.

I went to the track once with mickey thompsons but it didnt last very long. I blew my differential to pieces! 10 bolt + 6 speed + mickeys= SNAP!! But what i am more worried about is the mph i am trapping with this cam. It seems like its not getting the job done like it should, AND i'm having to spin it to 6900 to get what i am getting out of it!

Have you put the car on a dyno? With that cam, I can't see that it would keep making progress much above 6300.
And you say a lot of guys like the 110+4. Don't forget, that has to do with the overall picture of the cam, not just the LSA and ICL. If a small cam has a small LSA and a lot of advance, it'll run like a turd.
