will this cam work?????

i bought a cam from texas speed and peformance, tourquer 2 232/234 597/598 112 centerline 113lsa. they told me that this cam would work well in my car which will be a everyday driver, but my mec. that rebuilt my motor told me that this cam is to big for everyday driveing and it is going to be hard to drive. well the cam is in and next week it will be complete so who is right just looking for some advice on this cam and anyone who can let me know how this cam will act in my car. 2001 ta 6speed, headers mti lid ported tb head work. everyday driver.. thanks

I would have to say the mechanic is old school and is used to the old SBC stuff. I had a similar cam for the last 3 years and it drove like a baby. Only reason Im no longer keeping it is, I went BIGGER.

You'll be very happy with this cam. Enjoy!

Thats not that big at all. Considering the size of some of the cams that other people dd their cars with. I used to dd my car with a cam similar in size to that.

Not Too Big!!

I ran a MTI R1 (232/236 112) and it was fine. I do have a M6.

My idle was at 950 and a little lumpy, just enough to make me grin!!!

thanks guys, yea i fig. he was old school, my dad was throwing a **** fit about it just had to show him i knew what i was talking about.

Its all in the tune. I good tuner is differant than a good mechanic.

You can rest easy dad. I daily drove almost the exact same cam to and from work in between cities and didnt even notice a difference in gas mileage (just power)

Mine was with an auto untuned and with a stall. I'll admit the idle surge was a PITA until I got that tuned out, I was able to live with it, but having some tuning made it perfect.
