Default Smoking at idle and cruising

I guess this is the right place for this. I tried searching but it didn't work. Here's my deal...

Ive got the Torquer 3 and after it was installed by some friends my car has been smoking, sometimes it is pretty bad others not at all. I installed a catch can and its caught some oil, but it hasn't filled up quickly or anything. Also, Ive been driving the car for over 3,000 miles and nothing has gone wrong....but I also know that doesn't mean something isn't wrong. Several people have told me that most cammed LS1's smoke, so should I just not worry about it? I dont know what other info you guys need to help me out, so let me know and I'll try my best to give you the info.

Oh, I forgot to mention Im running a TSP mail tune and it smells pretty rich, so maybe thats it? A dyno tune will be coming sometime this summer. Anyway, I'll shut up and let you guys do work. Thank you!

What color smoke? Blue means your burning oil.

Does the smoke smell sweet at all? You might be burning coolant. Another thing to check is if you have white smoke coming out of your exhaust.

What part of BS are you from? I live like 5 mins away from bsshs

No I dont think it smells sweet, I'll check again tomorrow. The smoke is definately white, not blue or any other color. Where would the burning coolant be coming from?

Im from the north side BTW, and graduated '03.

I've had a few random valve seals pop off before and smoke at idle. Actually if you install them with "wet" with oil on the valve guide or inside of the valve seal they don't seem to stay put vs. installing them "dry" using a small socket and small hammer. You can pull off the valve cover and look through the springs to see if they are still seated or if they have moved.

Id like to do that, but I wouldn't know what Im looking for because I didn't install it and haven't ever really worked on a motor. I'll try a search to see if I can see what to look for, any advice? Thanks for the help Joseph!

more then likely you dont know what to look for to see if the smoke is blue or white. its all white, but the oil smoke will kind of a blue tint. hard to describe really. does it smell bad? I popped some valve seals years ago on a sm. chevy and it was really bad smoke and very smelly inside the car. it would smoke really bad while stopped idleing, and while pulling away. not so much at cruise. is yours like that? also the best way is to pull the plugs and see what they look like. if there white and crusty, its coolant. did you guys put heads on this car, or are you cam only? oil burned in the chamber will leave thick black/grey "stuff" on the spark plug. if its running rich, then the plug will be wet when you pull it out, and have a thin black wet layer. hope this helps.
oh yeah, and when you pull the plugs out, keep them in order and inspect each one as it comes out so you know what cyl. the bad plug came out of.

Well I wont be able to do any of this for a couple weeks when I get home from vacation, but I'll get to work asap. And I see nothing but white, no blue tint at all, I got out and looked at it coming out of the exhaust pipes and as it dispersed...white. It smells more like gas than anything, which is what makes me think its just really rich from the mail tune. It doesn't smell good at all, obviously, but I guess I dont know how else to describe it. No heads, cam only.
