I NEED SOME CAM GURUS in here to help with ENGINE KNOCK..Pushrods ,lifters. wtf
intalled a tsp torquer v2 cam along with comp cams lifters and tsp 7.400 @.80 pushrods.i have great oil presure at idle is about 38-40 psi and when you go wot it goes to about 45+ .but once the engine is warmed up after a few pases or revs it gets a loud and i mean LOUD knock knock knock.Sound's like a lifter is bleeding down then at idle it will finally pump back up . but at first fireup when it's cold its quiet as a mouse
Ive tightend the rocker arm bolts to 22 alway across the board and everything looks fine.but still a loud nock more than that is associated with a camed ls1. Some ppl say i need different pushrods or perhaps some adjustable rocker arms to get it lined out any input .i need to get this fixed as quick as possible .have to drive it to work this week. if you guys need some more info just ask ill try to provide anything to get help with this

i dont think i have spuna bearing i car has ran perfect and i just got about 200-300 miles on a complet top end rebuild.and you are right my oil pressure is around that at wot i just put 45 + to show that it is oiling correctly.the car still runs damn strong.like if i go start my car right now and just let it idle for 25-30 mins its quite no noise but once you pull out and get the rpms up as in driving thats when the noise happens but you can let it sit and just idle for a few mins and its back quite again

If it is quiet when you start it, it is probably not a rod bearing...
Any idea where the noise is coming from?

sounds like its coming from the lifters but their are new just got them from comp cams.or maybe the pushrods but all of them are new with less than 500 miles on them and easy driving never went past 6200 rpm and only hit that rpm once or twice.

it has to be one of the following either pushrods ,lifters or rocker arms. because thats alli installed with the cam and dual springs.maybe i didnt do somthing i was suppose to when installing one of these parts.is their anything out of the ordinary you have to do to any of these parts when installed that i may have not done . Oiled the lifters up before install and then installed the pushrods 7.4 in then tighten the rockers down to 22

I have the same exact problem... just a little more oil pressure. I installled a torquer II and patriot ls6 heads milled to 60 cc, ls7 lifters, and my old 7.4 pushrods. Ran fine at idle, but once it got hot after about 25 minutes, sounds like a super loud lifter tick, that comes and goes. Bought a pushrod length checker, and it says I need 7.35's to achieve proper preload. Im in the process right now of doing the swap, i'll let you know how it works out.

Predator i was hopeing you would read this thread.from what i gather today talking with my father he said that i have enitrely to much preload and its causing the lifter to bottom out .he says i need either shorter pushrods or get some roller rockers to adjust for it..the lifter i installed are comp cam replacement lifters part number 850-16.
and yes they heads are stock with Stock rocker arms . so should i get shorter lifters or get soem roller rockers .what would be the best bet to go

Reading through your stuff again and the fact that they are 850-16 lifters
(BTW they are unmilled heads/stock gasket right?)
Your p-rods would actualy be too short.
I run the same cam with the same lifters on milled 5.3L (.025) with 7.400
2 things that pop in my mind:
1- The little blue O oil ring
2- Did you clean your lifters (not just oil, but clean) before install.

Check out that thread. I am having the exact same problem with my car. Sounds like it might just be the oil pump o-ring.
