Default Cylinder heads poll: AFR vs. Terminators

I am changin my set up on my car..I am looking for more power under the curve, and not so much top end.

Assumptions- Assume the new cam specs will be something like a 228/232 on a 112....

Aside from price (which I do not want to be a determining factor) which head has the better features pound for pound? I need pro's and cons of each design, and anything else you guys want to put in...

All ideas/comments welcomed!

Thanks
Erik

def. wrong forum. if i had to buy heads, i'd either get the AFR's, edelbrocks or TFS's. they seen to have the best reputation and historically the best performance backed up by some of the best names in the business. for your poll, names don't get much bigger than AFR's. i doubt you'd get better quality elsewhere.

then again, i wouldn't be someone's first choice to go to for information about heads, so take it with a grain of salt.

AFR heads seem to put up a little better numbers than most of the others, but you pay for it.

This may not be a very fair poll. There are probably 100 sets of AFR 205s sold for every set of Terminators sold. Even if the Terminators were better, you'd be hard pressed to get a majority win from actual users.

It's interesting that we haven't seen many numbers from the PRC-modified Edelbrock heads. Anyone out there besides Termin8r?

im going to say out of the 2 the afr's would be my choice. they make a really nice head and seem to know what they are doing. with the 228/232 on 112+0 u will want the heads milled to 61cc w/ a .045 cometic gasket. that will give a cr reading of 11.33/ 8.58 assuming everything clears w/o having to flycut. that would be a nice little set up. and do yourself a favor and sent your stock rockers to hs for a rebuild.

No flycut there
I would duplicate Patrick G's setup.

I voted other.... ET 215's. The heads are getting out there, and not a single person that's running them is going slow.

I think alot of people were turned off to the Terminator head because it doesn't match up to the FAST 90. It didn't seem to stop Termin8er from making 490rwhp with a MS3 and 10.8:1 though.

I'm running the PRC Terminator Heads, with some fairly decent numbers for a "mild" set-up.

Erik, seems like there were some past issues with matching this head with the Fast 90 Intake manifold. It certainly does not seem like this is a popular head at this time.

There are so many choices with heads and cams today. I just went for smaller runners, picked my head/cam combination to get me as close to 8.5 DCR as possible.

Being an overall fan of smaller runners & higher port velocity, I don't think you can go wrong with either head.

Let us know. You certainly have great numbers now!
