That procedure is for a hydraulic flat tappet or solid tappet cam. You do not need to rev your hydraulic roller motor after the install. Adding the STP to the cam isn't a bad idea, but it is not 100% necessary. I'd do it anyway for peace of mind.

Changing the oil is never a bad idea after you have your motor opened up. Unless you're worried about breaking in springs you can go WOT as soon as you want. I personally do NOT subscribe to the heat cycling of springs argument. After I get to operating temperature my excitement takes over and I'm at WOT. I've been present for far too many dyno tests with brand new motors that are at WOT for pull after pull with zero "spring break-in". These are $30K motors and they HAVE to be reliable. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

A hyd roller profile just needs well doused with engine oil and installed, just make sure all lobes and bearings are well coated. I usually change the oil and filter after the first test drive.

I change oil after the 20 minute at 2000-2500 rpm break in period.I then change it after 500 miles, and every 3000 miles after that.

I have done 2 cam swaps and all i did was coat the cam in oil and change the oil after about 500 miles. I usually do take it a little easy at first because of the new valve springs but that might not be needed.

It seems to me. Just go easy on the thing at first. I mean you cant hurt it that way. Coat that bitch and go easy on her.
