Need Part # for updated LS1 PCV valve
This weekend I noticed that there was oil in my intake... upon further investigation, I was told I have the outdated PCV vlave... apparently early 2002's didn't get the newer part... I guess the newer part has a smaller hole to prevent oil from getting into the intake... I have the fatter one...
thanks

Re: Need Part # for updated LS1 PCV valve
Is this a viable solution for the pre-2000 lS1's? I've never really had an issue with oil consumption in my '99, but I understand several other have. The only alternatives that I was aware of were oil catch-cans, and the lS6 valley cover mod...
Anyone have an answer on this?

Yes it is the one with the small hole. There is no spring involved.
For a few bucks its worth a try. A catch can is probably the most effective method for keeping oil out of the intake.

I installed the pcv fitting but it did not stop the oil problem, the only solution is a catch can which works well or remove the intake and install the corvette pcv system.

but I am interested in this catch can.

also, since it does not have a 1-way valve, wont it allow pressure to possibly go into the valve cover and cause some freak pressure build up?

You will never have pressure entering the valve cover/crankcase from the PCV system unless you have a boosted engine. It can never go greater than atmospheric +In Hg. (Delta)
