PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 Heads (pictures)
Well the Camaro spun a couple rod bearings, so I am building the motor at the moment. Might as well get some heads in the process. I actually was going to buy Trick Flow heads or ETP, but I didn't see the need in spending the money they want. I remembered talking with Jason and Jon from TSP a while back, and they told me these heads would work great with my TRex cam. Now, my Comp 921 springs were tired, so I needed new springs. If I had purchased the TFS heads, I would need to replace the springs they come with. Not to mention they require roller rockers, valve cover spacers, and pushrods....am I missing something? These heads cam with, what is considered, some of the best springs on the market for the LSX. They bolt right in since they are a factory style head, perfect. Since I saved some money, this allowed me to bump up the quality of internal parts in the motor.
Now, I know AFR is out there, but once I was thinking about saving money, I didn't consider the more expensive heads any longer. I am not looking to push the limits of anything, I just want to run solid 10 second passes NA, and have the ability to go 9s with spray.
These heads are going on the following motor:
2001 LS1 Block (washed and honed)
TSP Ported LS6 Oil Pump
Stock Crank Turned and Chamfered(Slightly)
PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 Heads milled to a 59cc chamber
Cometic .040" head gaskets for a compression of 11.2:1
Diamond Pistons w/2cc Valve Reliefs
Compstar Rods
ARP Head Studs
TRex Cam (243/249 .610"/.615" 111 LSA)
Ported FAST 90/90
I am hoping for at least 430rwhp through my nice little Yank PE4400.
Heads:
It's hard to tell in these images, but the chambers are drastically different, and there is an obvious difference in material in the chamber.
PRC Dual Springs Rated .660 Lift.

nice!!! tsp has been making good stuff. i might look into those with the TR 230/236 cam i have planned.
