Default LOUD & MEAN....or....QUIET & STEALTH

Just trying to figure out what kind of setup I want to go with...I can probably make like 40-80rwhp more by not going for the stealth setup...what do you guys think for a DD?

Being stealthy will surprise alot of people....but being mean sounding will turn ALOT of heads...

i always think it's better to scare the **** out of someone than surprise em...make her mean. i would honestly go with an electric cutout though for a daily driver so your ears still function when you're wearing diapers again. gotta have atleast one thing going for you when you're gray.

Im a DD non-WS6 owner, Im going with Stealth. Then again, a lot of people think that since i dont have a ram-air hood, im just a V6.... The ones who know the truth, still think im cat-back only. That'll change after the LTs go on.

In the end, its all what you want. Im eventually going with an electric cut-out, for the times when i dont feel like being stealthy

Between the two, I'd have to go with loud and mean. Not irritating loud, but I love the sound of a nice cam loping.

how're the cops in your area? here, they'll make you pop the hood and look under the car if youre actin' a fool on the street. personally, though, i say go mean as hell. when your car shakes the earth like the apocalypse is coming, you dont have to play the "my ***** is bigger" game. a guy in a brand new c6 revved at me the other day and my cut-out was open. so i rev back at him. since my exhaust shoots to the right it litterally rattled his window. he took off like a baby when the light turned green. what he didnt know was that he would have mopped my **** up. when your car sounds nasty, people tend not to want to race cause they figure they're going to lose. the flip side, though, is racing the guy in the ferrari with the girlfriend that is young enough to be his daughter and beating him. it'd be great to have a stealth car to suprise the **** out of those yuppie ferrari owners. i still say go gnarlie though.

I agree with LMz28. If the cops around you arent dicks, then go as loud as possible. For me its the intimadation that really scares people. And after i grind them into the tramac, they know its not all bark, and no bite.

Stealth or Mean? It depends if you want people to look at you just cruisin' or take a second look when you run good at the track. This is a question I always ask myself and still haven't come up with an answer.

That's what I did. Doesn't sound like much with cutout closed.

Why not have the best of both worlds. I say put a cutout on it and a nice semi quiet muffler. As far as daily driving is concerned just run it through the muffler. There is nothing better than when someone pulls up expecting you not to have anything and opening the cutout only to see the look of surprise on their face when you deafen them.

Comming from a loud car i prefer the stealthy approach. easier to get a race and i dont **** off the population driving around town(less likely people will call cops on me). my next setup will have the stock Ti mufflers hanging out back possibly with cutouts incase i get the itch.
