How would true duals or duals dumped effect things with the exh side? I'm not thinking it'll make that big of a deal.. But I figured I'd ask.
I've made up my mind on my cam FINALLY! I'm gonna do a set of 205 TF heads and the MS3 cam.

if you had two identical setups, one with a properly built X and the other with a properly built Y.......i doubt either would show significant gains over the other.

We ran 3 times from a 60+ roll..I put over a car length on him to 120.
Patrick can probably explain better than I..But the bottom line is the Y-pipe combined with smooth Y-collector merge actually draws the exhast out..Whereas an X-pipe designed to fit an fbody doesn't..The velocity is slower through the x..
Trust me,If Patrick thought an X was better,he would have run it.
Besides a Y-pipe just fits better on our cars.

someone needs to do a dyno with a really good X, then swap to a really good Y and post the results.(yes i realize how much work this would be)

That makes a lot of sense there.. I'll prolly do the Mufflex Y then.. Same design as his..

The only way to do this is on an engine dyno where there are no chassis restrictions.

i think i will. i found that y pipe piece from your write up.
i found a thread where somebody ask about lsk lobes and daily driving. you said you were going to test your springs. did you ever get to do that? just wondering if any body has actually done any testing to see how long springs such as the pp extreme dual will last with these lobes? and would towing and such affect the life of the springs? i wouldn't think so but you never know unless you ask. does it depend on how high you rev the motor and how often?

I find it interesting you shimmed the Yella Terra rockers. I am in the process of installing a set on a friends car with stock LS1 heads and found that the shim produced an almost ideal wipe pattern. When I mentioned this to others, no one had even checked their wipe pattern but rather simply bolted them in place. We did need to order longer pushrods though.
