Patrick G, may I ask you to take a look at my question?
I have only ~340whp from my low-compression 383ci, isn't that a bit too low?

Having a 507.9 RWHP H/C car I would agree with you on almost all points.

I still however run a stock rocker, have TSP True Duals, have the TSP 85mm lid and GM 85mm MAF, and unfortunately my bottom end is a little tired with 67K miles on it. The Strange 12-bolt with 4.56 might eat up a few HP.

Otherwise you give some good sound advice.

Great info...I have a couple of questions for you.
What would you do differently if a LQ4 short block was to be used?
Would you recommend a forged 408 rotating assembly?

That's a Corvette X-pipe. A F-body x-pipe would have a wider split to the pipes.

Do you know who has a similar X for F bodies for TD?

I think it's been pretty well outlined in the first page of this thread. Find heads that flow the same numbers or better, find an intake that flows the same numbers or better and run a cam that has similar valve events.

Yes. The TFS 215s and the ETP 215s were out when I did my build. If one would follow the same steps with those other fine heads, I'm sure they could duplicate the results. Just remember though, all the other supporting bolt-ons are critical to making the last 20 rwhp. Most people skip too many steps and wonder why their combos are short on power. Like I said in the first post, 500 rwhp with heads and cam is possible, it's just not cheap.

Patrick ...... Like everyone has said, this was a great write-up with very informative and educated information.

After reading through this thread, I have a question for you .....

I know that the FAST 92 is still relatively new, but how do you think it would do when ported on a setup similiar to what you had in your TA?

The new FAST 92 should be able to do as well as the old FAST 90. Just remember, the choke in the FAST 90 or FAST 92 is not the throttle body opening, but rather it's the runners leading into the cylinder head. Making the TB opening larger (92) does not address where the choke of the manifold is. Proper porting of the runners shows some nice gains. Going to a 92mm opening does not show any real gains in stock unported form. According to Tony Mamo, the FAST 92 is as good as the FAST 90 (flow-wise), just not any better.
