My true question being: How likely is it that a shortblock with good compression (all cylinders within 1.5% of each other), and higher mileage (mine has 80k on it) make similar power to a forged rotating assembly (which presumably is actually a bit heavier, but you're adding significant strength to it)? Hell- would a stock assembly with notched pistons to account for the added lift cam/milled heads make **dare I say** more power?

you think he would lose 60hp moving to a mustang dyno from a dynojet? I know dynojet's are very "friendly" dyno's, but you think they really read 60hp high?

Patrick, any idea how much power I should expect out of that 383 you cam'd for me?
The cam in question was 236/242 .615/.612 111+2 XFI.
Mod list below.
I have a bad clutch & couldn't do any WOT tuning..Just part throttle/driveability/idle stuff....But man does that motor run GOOD from what I can see.
Torque everywhere.
The last step will be a ported FAST

It takes a lot of attention to the details and peripherals to reach the 500RWHP barrier with a 346Ci...with a complete reliability of course!!!

The key to 500 RWHP from a 5.7 is Tony Mamo porting your AFR 205's & FAST intake,& Patrick G setting up your cam numbers, finding as much "free HP" as possible, good exhaust design,& having a really well-built shortblock(not a 100k mile stocker)..& putting it through an M6 & a stock geared 10 bolt.
You're probably not going to get there just by bolting up off-the shelf cams & heads & have it be as streetable as Patricks car appears to be.
I found it fascinating how so much attention was paid to flame quench with the head set up & how this allowed such high SCR to still use pump gas..That was good stuff.
