just out of curoiosity why would you want to increase your displacement just one inch?

I'm guessing it's for a rebuild. Yes you can just hone it. Most aftermarket pistons are for a 3.905 bore. The stock bore is only 3.898. That's only a .007 difference AKA not that much.

you can only hone a ls1/ls6 block. The sleeves in the slum block are to thin to actually bore out say.030 like most would. You can bore the 6.0 iron blocks.I honed mine to a 3.905

Mine was honed to 3.903. There are also 3.908 options, but as I understand it the block cannot be honed again if you go to 3.908. Since I figured I'd be rebuilding again, I'd go for 3.903 now, 3.905 next time, and then 3.908 the time after that.

So I don't need to get a machine shop to bore it? I'm getting 3.905 pistons, so from what you all are saying I can just hone the block the extra .007?
