Since the search is down, I'll tell you but this question has been asked about 400 times... the diff between a 112 and 114 is very small, maybe a couple hp across the board but generally the 112 will move the power band down lower than the 114. 112 will have a rougher idle too.

My car is an A4. My problem is that my car falls on its face going into 3rd. Im looking to rectify that with a different head and cam. I almost 100% sure of going with the Livernois Motorsports Stage 1 CNC 243's and the TR224. I a nice flat torque curve but at the same time I dont want to increase the shift points too high (would like to still shift under 6400 rpms) So I figure with the 112 it will move the torque curve to a more desirable spot then the 114. But I do like the thought of a non-lopey cam. How much further back does it move the curve. Can you give an example.

I love my TR 224 (its on a 112), but like everyone else, now I wish I went bigger. I have a set of stage II 241's with it and they pair together great, I make 400 RWHP through a stalled A4 and have 355 RWTQ at 3500 RPM's (which happens to be my stall speed too). My biggest issue with the larger cams out are they have no bottom end, I love this thing. It depends on your goals though, if you want 450 RWHP this isn't the cam for you, 400 with great power thorougout and its perfect.

I'm thinking of going bigger, but see alot of guys with larger cams have no tourque. My friend is an A4 with prc ls6heads and T2 and puts down 400rwhp,but his tourque is only 360rwt.I may stick with this cam and add a small shot to it

The difference between the two is that the 112 will peak a little earlier but all in all the dyno graphs look identical from the dyno graphs Ive seen. I have had both and both are great cams. I am currently using the TR224 on a 114 LSA and AFR 205's. I was able to pull 521 RWHP and 538 TQ on a 100HP shot with that cam. Like said, unless your spraying a large amount of nitrous you will be fine with ether cam. I do believe the 114 would be very slightly better for nitrous between the two cams if I were to use a bigger shot.

i had tr224 on 114 before and it was great experince to me ,my car id DD and after i tune it it was sound like stock but with slight loby idle ,and i did spary 100 shot on it
and was like a beast but my friend had a Sheater cam and put more hp than my 224
but i got better torque ,plus he made a verey good dyno number on spray that cam get alive on spray and made alot of power under the curve . i liked both cams but i liked the Sheater cam on spray mods

I had a very similar cam in my previous LS1 car. It was a 225/225 on 112. It was a cam only setup utilizing a TCI 3500 stall, with the shift points set to 6500. You could tell there was a cam in it, but it wasnt too aggressive through the Hooker catback.
The TR224 will leave a healthy amount of P-V clearance. Since your getting heads I HIGHLY recommend you have them milled to get your static CR up to around 11.5-1, and use some Cometic .040 gaskets for a tight quench. You'll have a STOUT running car that is a pleasure to daily drive.
As for the 112 vs 114, like others have said, the 112 will peak a little earlier, and have a little choppier idle. The 114 will be easier to tune for your a4 car, give you a shot at squeaking past emissions testing if that's a concern for you, smooth out the idle a bit, and give you a touch more P-V clearance.
As far as which cam to use for nitrous, at this level, it doesnt matter at all. Until your spraying LARGE shots, just go with what cam suits your all motor requirements the best.
Oh, about your cobra buddy......my last car, cam only with a 100 shot, full weight, and not even full bolt-ons, went 11.20s@120 on Nitto DRs. He'll be toast

What's your car running in the quarter mile w/o nitrous? I guess your still running the 228 cam (i kept one of your earlier posts).

The only reason I am doing this is to beat my friends pullied Cobra. 2003. He put down 441 rwhp 456rwtq but cant drive for crap and only ran a 12.6 at the strip. I ran a 13.38 @ 106 in complete stock form. Im not far from him but would love to just eat him alive without a question.
