I think my stupid ORY is worse to listen to then my valvetrain. Its only really bad after I start her up after sitting for winter, otherwise, I am used to it.

Mine sounds like 8 monkeys on crack with with hammers in side of metal trash can. Got the notorious valve train clatter, and naty piston slap. Slaps like crazy when its cold , and even does it when is warm. I'm begining to think its a knock.

Mine sounds like the video of the T/A posted earlier. It's always sounded like that, but it is worse after the H/C/I swap.

Mine was ticking slightly when I frist got it 4 months ago. 3 months in started knocking down low. Spun connecting rod bearsings possible caused by a cut in the oil pick up o-ring. Installed a long block LS6 and now it is quiet. Hope it lasts. BTW the ss had 73k when I bought it. It did not look like the last owner took care her.

Mine was nice and quite at 75k miles except for a noisy tensioner pulley then i did the h/c swap and some LT headers that made the lifter noise and what ever other noises come alive under the hood

When the engine is cold you can hear a lil piston slap and tick, i took it to my uncle, who has been a chevy Mech for like 20+ yrs, when i first bought it (3 yrs ago), and he said it was normal. Once the car warms up all i hear is my exhaust note! It is normal for these cars to have some noise.

Oh and I'm also the most **** person when it comes to my car; only the best **** for her; from gas to oil. 88K miles (M6) and still going strong *knock on wood*!

my cars piston are square cold. its a piston slappin **** in cold weather. after the oil
warms up some its quiet. the sewing machine sound is in the works, coming soon.
my 5.3L p\u been slapping for the last 100,000 miles. i'm not concerned about either one.
the 5.7L does it worse though i'm thinking the differnce between the aluminum and cast iron block probably has something to do with that.
