Vindicator I think you need to flycut the pistons so just be aware of that. Makes amazing power, Upgrade to TFS 215cc heads down the road and be on the border of a 500whp combo with premium boltons.

The t-rex will be no different. I believe the t-rex is a lil bigger.

Pretty simple one here.
Trex - designed to work with stock heads
Vindicator - designed to work with ETP (or was it TFS?) heads

Which heads you have should determine your choice.

Couple people on the board running it with no fly cut. I think the PTV is real close though.

the vindicator is a very close fit, and you can never say for a fact it will fit because the amount the piston comes out of the hole does vary from the factory.

There was a guy on here that had .022" PTV clearance with the rev.1 of the Vindicator. Vengeance said that they have seen PTV range from around .030" to about .050". So I would definitely flycut with it. I actually have the Vindicator, but have yet to install it, and I am flycutting. There is a rev. 2 which is like a 113+2 instead of a 112+4, which will give a little more PTV, but I still suggest flycutting.

I would still flycut with the Trex too though. While you're in there, you might as well flycut and mill your heads, to get some of that compression back and keep acceptable clearances.

Screw all the ptv worries. I'm talking about valve events matching head flow.

Dont believe all the hype. Yes there are some shop cars that hit the mark but they are few and far between. You need to use all the tricks on the dyno as well and even then some of the dyno numbers posted are pure ridiculous. You can make a dyno read what ever you want.

Me and Blanco butt heads a lot, but he's right on this one. Check the elevation on those dyno pulls that companies are putting out 500rwhp combos with. Not that Vengeance isn't honest. Just that ANYBODY can be dishonest, and you should check. GET THE FULL FILE FROM THE SHOP THAT SHOWS ALL THE SETTINGS. S&R Racing (a small shop where we dyno sometimes) emails the full 10 page sheet of settings from their SuperFlow dyno so you see that the settings were honest.

Yep I'm not saying anyone is lying here, I'm just saying not everyone who mimicks the setups gets the same results.

Theres's a lot of tricks to dyno's just as there are tricks to flow numbers. Bigger flow bore being one of them and no one seems to let you know that when you mill a head it changes the flow characteristics.

n4cer we do butt heads but your a car guy and your entitled to your opinion so I'd still have a beer with ya

Which cam has the cam only record right now? That would be a good way to look at it as well.

Just to clarify we have broken 500rwhp 4 times.. None of the cars were SHOP cars.. They were customer cars that have since been on a dyno in their hometown and made the same #s are they did here. There are also some individuals out there that have put together some healthy packages that have made 490s to 500s. While it is rare, it can be done and it can be done without cheating a dyno

BTW, I vote for the Vindicator

For the record, that wasn't a cut on Vengeance as much as it was a plea to dig into the information presented. Also, if I dislike my X3 on my new build, I'll be having Vengeance spec me one.
