I'm looking at ordering new heads/cam this week for my 408. I have -12cc Mahle pistons and a vengeance ported Fast 90/NW 90 tb. The car is a 2000 corvette w/ m6 and 3:90 gears and sees a 175 shot from a NX wet kit.
I'll probably order Trickflow 225's and need a good driveable cam to match. I currently have a low 251/251 cam now and don't like the driveability. Goals are 520/480 but I'd mostly like something for street racing that I can enjoy driving around. I don't spray that much but if I could find more time to drive the car I'm sure I would. I've been looking at cams in the 240/244 range???
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated: cam, chamber size, scr/dcr.....

Speed Density tuning is a crutch for someone who cant tune a MAF.... No need to go speed density for such a mild setup.
TO the original poster, GO with TFS 225s and a Vindicator (240/244 112 +4).... You will see 530s to 540s with EXCELLENT drivability/power under the curve.
Shoot me a PM and Monday Ill forward you some dyno graphs with 402s/TFS 225s/Vindicators

Good one! I`ve had mine tune by some of the best in Houston! And the SD tune was like Iceing on the cake! Say what you want!! Now when I had my smaller set-up the MAF tune was fine! Just went this direction because f the set-up and A4 I have now. Joe from T-56 and Mike from G-Force tuned my car! The milder set-ups don`t need SD tuning

[QUOTE=beardWS6] ive seen plenty of large cube motors with SD all run fine. what i find interesting is in order to dial in a motor you tune it first in SD then enable the maf and calibrate it. also if the maf fails it relys back on what you just had tuned in SD. and i agree smaller setups dont need SD but it does help in larger setups

I found that the only way to get rid of low RPM surging with the t56 was in SD with the cam that I was using (244/248 XER on a 111LSA). The reason is that tuning in SD will allow you to create leaner and richer conditions as required in the sub 4K RPM areas for driveability. With an auto, its a different story as the larger converters tend to be much more forgiving. JMHO
As for WOT, it makes no difference.
