Engine pics and some info...
Just a couple issues today... guy broke one of my rings accidently so I have to wait for a replacement ... and I had to move to a 7.25 pushrod... The heads had to be worked on because the Pushrods (with the T&Ds rockers / geometry **** I dont understand but I learning ) were rubbing against the head...
Got all but 1 Piston in today cam is degreed in timing chain on and front cover buttoned up...
Took the oil pump apart and cleaned it out... U know what is funny... the way ARE raise oil pressure was to put 3 small washers into the pressure relief go figure to increase spring pressure... I couldnt tell if it was cleaned up inside or not but it was nice and shinney...
all in all it was a good day
and my springs have 155lb pressure at 1.85 ... CompCam 977s They checked them when they disassybled the heads for machine work and recleaning...

no not a solid roller... they are a modified hydrolic... like a Comp R i guess...
They are made by Sherman Racing, they have minimal plunger movement... barely enough to be considered hydralic by the rule books

OILPUMP:
Yep, that would be a very cheap and consistent way to increase the oil pressure release point.
Also, had you milled away the block alignment boss? It looks like it is gone in pic 3.

Re: Engine pics and some info...
Jason, what's the easiest way to re-align the front timing cover, rear crank cover, and the oil pan so nothing leaks? I'm sure your in the same boat i am and don't have the tools called out for in the helms manual...Aslo, will the ASP pulley fit now with the double chain? or will it need to be machined down?

Re: Engine pics and some info...
well there really is no aligning them because there are bolt holes and they can only go in one location... definately get new gaskets for front rear and oil pan... at least i did... you can apply RTV sealent to the base of the front and rear covers where they meet the oil pan if you have to... i read that on a website somewhere...
i had the ASP pulley and double timing chain before and didnt have it machined... but it did look like it dig into to oil pump outter cover... ill have to look into getting it machined i guess

Re: Engine pics and some info...
I looked at the SLP Instructions for their Timing Chain, they mention the spacers to be .01" in width so I told the machine shop to mill that much off the end of the pulley.. that and the scar already there should be good !
but i talked to SLP they said to machine .030 off

You need to align them...
For the front cover, install all the bolts losely, press on the pulley all the way, then tighten the cover bolts.
Not sure about the rear cover...
