Default just picked up a B1..now what.

What kind of experiences have you guys had with the B1? I heard its a great cam for stock heads. What kind of power does it make? I still have my stock manifolds right now, but I'm getting MAC's for tax returns. Its a 114lsa, I heard it hardly needs any tuning at all. What should I raise my rev limiter up to? I'm ordering a set of 918 springs and hardened pushrods too. Any other useful info is appreciated. thanks

Its a good Cam. Should be good for 365-375 with all of the bolt-ons/no cats. This cam has been around since the beginning it seems and people still use it. Fireball had great luck with it "cam only" in the early days.

It's a great cam for the street I love mine not much tuning required I'm adding stage 2 heads from absolute speed as soon as they get here. Jay from absolute says this is one of his favorite cams with his stage 2 heads.

Excellent choice! My B1 made 391 RWHP and 371 RWTQ with stock heads through complete exhaust out to the rear of the car w/o CATs

I had one of the first B1 stock headed cars 2-3 years ago. (Fireball was the first). I absolutely loved the cam! It put out 375/365 without a LS6 intake or any tuning. It was very tame around town and pulled great to 6600. It still is one of the best street/strip cams available.

My B1/LS6 Stage 2 heads/LS6 intake are going in next week. I did a lot of research before picking this cam, I wanted excellent street driveability but yet feel a very slight lope, just to know its not stock anymore. I think I'll be happy as well

any 1/4 ET's and trap speeds? I'd like to get an estimate as to what kind of #'s I could put down.

Whatever happened to Brooke anyway? Seemed like he posted here (actually LS1.Com) all the time and just stopped a couple of years ago for no apparent reason.

There were a few other big time posters like that too. "Hacker Joe" comes to mind. Not a word from him in years.

Then we have Bode. I know he has a shop now, but still, not a word from him in a long while.

Anyway... Getting off the subject.

Ron,

Fireball (Brian), as far as I know, was the first one to use it with stock heads. I remember that there were alot of skeptics saying it wouldn't work well, etc. lol This was when everyone was fairly new to the LS1.

I had stock exhaust, stock cats, stock manifolds, stock heads, and made 340-350rwhp'ish with the B1. Definitly a good cam. Nobody knew the car wasn't stock, the lope was non-existant at 900rpms.
