h/c package? input....
this might be a duplicate thread and im sorry if it is, but im planning on doing a h/c swap along with an intake. i am looking to get 550-600 at the wheels. i have a fully built tranny, 12 bolt, bolt-ons, exhaust.
i was thinking of going with ported ls6 heads, with a fast 90 intake and tb, but what cam would you recomend???? SUGGESTIONS????

ok well i guess that sums it up. ill let everybody know what route i take, and the dyno results, i hope i can get 525. we'll see.
nitrous may be in the works to achive my goal.

A huge cam, all the bolt ons, trick flow or afr heads(milled to 57 or 59cc's), rr's, ported fast 90/90 might get you a little over 500, but that would probably be peak horsepower and may not do you much good on the street. Like a lot of people say look at the under the curve power and don't concentrate just on peak #'s.

1) You aren't going to sniff 500 at the wheels with ported GM castings.
2) You have an A4.
3) The cam you would need to make big power would require a high stall.
4) High stalls eat power.
You should be happy if you break 450 N/A.
talk to Vengeance. they were able to prduce 521/450 out of a vette.
i think the only way to achive near 550 will be...
full bolt ons
M6 w/ aluminum flywheel
stock rear w/ stock gears
CF DS.
and titanium stuff in the drive and valve line
it will never happen in a a4 NA

ok, thanks for all the info. well i guess i need to decide if i want to stay with an ls1 or go to a different motor. well i guess we'll see what i put together, and see what numbers i put down.
uhmmmm... first off if im correct id hafta say you will shred the 12 bolt with that much power... and second off... the heads you chose arent the BEST to get up there but can be done... and third off... TREX cam but thunder racing would be my choice on a stock cubed motor but what kind of gearing are you running cuz with that kind of cam to get use of the range you will need something like 4.10's to get you started

not even positive if it weighs that much more, i know three people with it done... mean my friend and fast... all in the 10-11 range
I previously had a H/C combo w/ the T Rex that made 463/402 on a mustang dyno. 4.10s weren't enough to make that thing get up and go- had to bump to 4.30s. I had an M6 though. I've got an LQ9 iron block 408 now and I think that would be your best bet if you're going after that kind of power. I'll be spraying mine with a 200-300 shot.
