CA now uses a dyno when they smog. The car is straped down and run at 25 MPH under load. This makes it much harder to cheat. This just started.

224/114 like we've been discussing. same one you got.

I'll be putting my OEM D/D on, and selling the LM...I know what cam/headers does to exhaust sound

Well I know a cam will definitely make the exhaust louder, but that's what I'm hoping for; I think my LM is too quiet . . . Headers on the other hand don't seem to make much difference on loudness in my experience. Cats will quiet your car down big-time.

FWIW, I just finished installing the 224 114 last night. I have Hooker LTs, Hooker ORY, and the stock SS mufflers with the QTEC cutout. With the cutout closed, it still sounds fairly stock, not much lope and is pretty quiet. All that changes with the cutout open. More lopey and sounds pretty mean.

Thanks for the report, hope to have mine in soon . . . I wonder how it will sound through my stock cats and SLP Loud Mouth? Anybody have this combo?

I'm about to, and the OEM D/D to put back on if it's too loud (in the car...who cares about outside the car)

Just got mine installed. How about stock manifolds, cats and a Borla?

So what was the final result..of the emissions capability of the 224/224 114lsa?

Did this cam pass the dyno testing..
Did this cam pass the pcm testing?

What was needed to pass?

You won't pass emissions in Cali. with FLP's anyway. You prolly won't notice a difference with a 220 cam so get the 224!

Get the 224/112 man. It's a fun cam, even on my A4. You can see the lid/catback dyno, then all bolt-ons' dyno. Quite a bit a difference in my powerband even with an automatic.

shift at 6400, redline @ 6600, keep it real Peakwhp doesn't really drop @ 7000 on stock heads. but no extra power. Need heads and bigger stick next.

Well I've had it installed for about 7 months now, and it's a great cam. It passed emissions, and took me to 160 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats even through exhaust manifolds.

I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for their insight when choosing a cam ..(224/224 114lsa with crane dual spring kit)

I have put quite a few thousand miles on my car since installing this cam at TTP here in NJ and sure enough..the civility and such is like GM produced the car right at the factory..

Only thing is ...the mid range pull upward is even more fun.

Thanks guys for the insight.

Very satisfied and glad I did this mod.

Wouldn't have done this probably had it not been for the internet, the various forums and the people we get to know because of it.
