Default TR 230/224 people come in!!!!!

So I have decided on this cam- TR 230/224 ,575/.563 111lsa..... and will be purchasing it with the cam install kit
which includes.

- Dual Patriot Gold Valvesprings and Ti Retainers
- Thunder Racing Pushrods (7.400)
- Valve Stem Seals

they have a few options for the dual valvesprings

dual patriot valve springs
dual patriot extreme valve springs +$20

here are my questions

1.what would be the difference between these 2 springs? they also have the comp cams 26921 double springs which are very expensive and a bit of overkill for my set up since im going to be cam only with stock heads.

2.And I was suggested 7.425 pushrod length by Pat G probably to quiet down the valvetrain....Most people go with 7.4 , and im a little worried there might be stress to the lifter plunger going with 7.425.

3.My car is an m6 with stock gears and 61,000 miles would i need to do a gear and timing chain swap?

Ive seen alot of members on here use this cam for a Daily driver so with a good tune i shouldnt worry about its streetability....and comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

its a baby cam!

and since the lift is under 600 i wouldnt think u would need the dual springs..let alone the extreme ones. either way it wont hurt. (to my knowledge) i would go ahead and change the chain, and oil pump..myswell..u will need to take them off anyways..they arnt power adders. but they are good insurence. if your going to do it. do it rite! and i would listen to Patrick G. he knows wut the *** he is talkin bout! when i build my new motor ima have him design me a custom grind cam.

either way ima smoke u! LOL

I had the TR230/224 in my car before the MS4 and it rocks. To me it's the best street cam made. Good bottom end and pulls to 6500 with very good street manners. Plus it sounds mean as hell. Go with the regular patriot springs not the extreme, and I'd listen to patrickg for the pushrod length.

ill pass those numbers with an intake alone..

A cam like that is designed for a great exhaust system and an average intake system. Also with it being a reverse split, it will not like the spray as much as a traditional split would. If you are planning on spraying under 200 I would not worry about that though. I see you are in Cali. I would go with a standard split because you still have your cats. JMO..

Either way, have fun with it.

I did hes the one that suggested me this cam in the first place and ive also talked to thunder racing, and even said its good on spray, im not %100 sure on nitrous ill be NA for a while which should be no problem with this cam, and ive test driven m6 cars with "baby cams"

Its all in the tune!

I only have MAC headers instead of the "better" long tubes and I made 399RWHP through an automatic and PT4000 converter. Most of the time Auto cars tend to dyno rather low. Honestly, I think with all the right bolt-ons and a good tune, ~400RWHP with the TR230 should be easy in nearly ANY ls1. It's all about getting the right parts that all MATCH TOGETHER.
