Oil Consumption??????
how much oil consumption is ok for a car. right when im about to change my oil, at 3000 the low oil light comes on. so i put a quart in it and then change the oil in like a week???? is this too much or acceptable.....if its not acceptable, what can i do stop this.

GM facotry engines are riddled with serious defects (Oil comsumption, bad oil pumps, exploding rockers, etc.)
Heavy oil consumption like yours is not normal.
GM should have recalled the LS1 engines but, unfortunately, it was not forced to do so by the Government.
Headers tend to make the situation worse. Try a HUGE oil catch can and hope for the best.

I have 56K on the clock and have never had ANY measurable oil consumption; my catch can is always dry as a bone!

i am using mobil 1 10w-30 and have been since i bought the car when it had 50k on it. now the car has 70k. why would the headers make it use more oil? sorry if this is a stupid question but i need to know what some possible diagnosises are and some ideas on what to do.

I would switch the oil to a more conventional oil non synthetic for one cycle. Then check your consumption. Also use a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer then top off with oil. I bet your consumption problem will stop. And there is no harm in using conventional oil. Try Castrol 10w30.
