Futral Motorsports 347 solid roller is in!!!!!!!!!
After talking with almost every sponsor on the board I decided to spend my money with Allan @ FMS. He seemed to have the racer mentality I was looking for and the confidence in his ability to build the motor I wanted. I decided to stay stock displacement for upcoming race events. I like seeing what I can do being the "underdog"
Knowing Allans solid roller knowledge I decided that was the route I was going to go. I couldnt be happier with my decision either. This motor is TOTALLY AWESOME. Drivability is awesome. Doesnt stall, surge, or anything like I was expecting. I dont want to go into complete detail on my setup due to personal reasons, but Ill throw a few things out there.
02 LS1 block, Stage III LS6 heads( the flow #s on these heads are UNREAL), FMS camshaft(traditional split for the nitrous), Diamond custom coated pistons, Lunati rods, ARP studs through-out, Race prepped (stock) crank.
Ill have dyno results in app 2 weeks. I have a few things going on right now aside from getting some break in miles on the new setup. Allan tweaked my PCM with a base program for break in. Ill have it tuned as soon as time allows.
Major thanx to Allan and Candy Futral, there customer service is second to NONE they put up with atleast a million questions from me,my harrassing phone calls and my bickering about the pricing on everything down to the oil. I also purchased a K member, set of Bogart Racing wheels, and a few other misc items from FMS. Everything got here in a timely manner and beat almost any price I could find elsewhere. These guys are awesome!!! If you are in the market for a BADASS setup I would HIGHLY suggest them
FWIW, Im about as picky and hard to please as they come and FMS came through like a CHAMP. Thanx again guys.
Time for some more

Cool Ron. I hope you get some good numbers out of that motor. I'm sure you will.
Mine is in the shop too. Getting forged internals (JE Pistons and Eagle H-beam rods. Stage II KCR heads) and set up for boost. Yank PTE 4500 stall will be swapped in too. Funny thing is that I've decided to stay @ 346 as well.
You were running 10.8 with your old set up. I'm sure you'll be in the mid to low 10's. Good luck on your car.
I ran into the Futral crew at the North vs. South Shootout and they seem to be really cool crew. I wish them the best.

Cool Ron, I know it you had been planning this motor for awhile! I'm glad Allan took care of you.
Check your IMs, I need some more stock pistons.

Killer, man I want to do the "forged-piston & solid roller" thing.....bad!
Glad you got my dream motor, i'll probably just go back with the stock stuff.
Good luck.

I'm picking up my car this weekend from Thunder Racing... I got an identical motor from them. Solid roller, LS6 heads, Diamond pistons, Lunati rods, etc. Should be a blast! Trust me, I know how excited you are. My car is at Futral's shop right now getting a little work done on it there... I agree, great guy to deal with.
Congrats. Have fun with it.

Thanx alot guys!! Im excited as a guy can get about this setup.
Raugh, as fast as you are now you would be one hell of a threat with a solid roller motor. Stay stock
Not to be a dick to anyone, but I would prefer to keep my flow #s and cam specs to myself for a while. I may get a wild hair and post em up, but for now Ill keep it to myself. I will say there are larger hyd cams on the market for 346s, although as we all know specs on mean **** without the lobes and other certain #s known. As for the heads, I havent seen a flowsheet come close to the LS6 heads from any of the sponsors on this board.
Thanx again FMS

Congrats Ron.. I am happy you have the setup you want.. After a few emails a while back I thought you would never make up your mind.. I see crazy #'s out of your setup soon.. The Futrals are the best.. They even chime me on IM every now and then. My next crazy setup is going to be done by them..

Re: Futral Motorsports 347 solid roller is in!!!!!!!!!
Yea Vince, theres alot of good alternatives out there. I wanted to make the right decision the first time around. I have seen several guys pay big money for setups that didnt make squat at the dyno or the track. I cant exactly afford to make that mistake so I went with the only logical option I saw. Im glad I did.
